  • Time for some Help again.

Sorry guys I may be at Iowa State University but i am no engineer sadly. What i really want to do is fashion a flagpole for my truck for gameday. I would love to use the standard size flag to have and drive around with for when we loose. My problem is I am having problems figuring out how to do this exactly and basically asking for any ideas that you guys may have. I attached a badass paint picture of what i want to do. I dunno, really looking for any input here I can get. Oh and hopefully when I reregister my truck I am going to get iowa state plates that say WE TRY

turns out you cant read what my textbox says.

"insert badass iowa state flag here"

thanks for your help guys, trying not to cause a nussance with the noncamaro stuff just let me know if it is and I can try another forum

nope, i would gladly do that, just curious what the best way to go about all of this is, I was thinking the steel plate with the round tubing to drop the pole into just didn't know if i needed something stronger? sorry i sound so stupid, just something I want to do right the first time

would you use anything to secure the pole into the steel pipe?

If you don't really want to drill you could always get a large CB antenna with a magnetic base and attach a flag to it. Just thinking out loud here.

I know I would. You could even tap a bolt into the side, you could just tighten that bolt against the pole to make sure it isnt going anywhere. If you wanted to be really careful you could drill a hole threw the pipe and the pole and then put a pin setup in there so that there is no way the pole is going to back out of the pipe. If you have a tall enough pipe, welded onto the plate, I dont see much of an issue.

Am I missing something??? Doesn't you truck have post holes in the top of the bedrails?? Seems to me that I've seen many people running around with flags/poles just stuck in the post hole.
