    MIFC Staff: Spring Dust Off

    Hello everyone,

    I just wanted to take a moment and address what is going on for the club. We will be hosting a meeting:

    Spring Dust-Off
    Suburban Pontiac-GMC
    Pontiac, MI
    Phoenix Center
    May 20

    It sounds like this will also be a celebration of Pontiac's 75th Anniversary. Should be an awesome event and I would love to see participation at this event from our group.

    Unfortunately, the weekend of these events is also the weekend of my sister's wedding in Chicago. Therefore, unless by some chance miracle, I will not be attending the meeting or the Dust off. I am greatly upset by this since I am so very excited about this event and our club this season. I will keep you all posted if anything changes. I will look into skipping out early to be at the meeting.

    Otherwise, I will be relying on our club VP's Mike and Jeff to host the meeting. I will be working with them to prepare and set an agenda for the meeting. I encourage all of our club members and club staff to attend this event so we may better get aquainted with the club as well as its members.

    Does anybody have the actual street address of this event? I have been googling the hell out of it and have not found anything yet.

    O.K., there's a couple of different things going on here.

    First, there may be two Spring Dust Offs.

    This particular one is sponsored by Suburban Pontiac-GMC and is being held in downtown Pontiac at the Phoenix Center on May 20. Their phone number is 248-758-3950. I called and the nearly-worthless city employee told me she doesn't have a 07 schedule and couldn't tell me a thing about it.

    The second one is at least partly sponsored by the Widetrackers Classic Car Club and is being held on May 20 (makes me wonder if they're the same one) at the Springfield Oaks Park in Davidson. This particular one is an event that I've wanted to get to for a couple of years, but something has always interviened. This will be the 19th Spring Dust Off.

      umm i will check into that tomorrow.
      I know of a Suburben ford but not a GM. The other one i am thinking of is on baldwin and joslyn. But i will look around tomorrow.

        I thought are first meet was the nesting of the birds down in Dundee?? Or did I miss something?

          Update.

          The Surburban Pontiac GMC one is done and over. They aren't even called Surburban anymore (since 2002), which is probably why they're hard to find.

          The real Dust Off is May 20 in Davidson.

              That was the 2006 Dates.

                  I'm kind of glad to see the downtown Pontiac one isn't happening, just because downtown Pontiac isn't where I personally would want to be after dusk.

                      Downtown Pontiac really isn't that bad. There's usually quite a few people out and about, and a good variety of clubs that you can walk between.

                      Doesn't bother me at all to go there at night.

                      It not at all like walking around Cobo after dusk...
