  • Anybody make PDF files?

    Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody could make up a banner design and save it as a PDF so I can go to Staples and have them make the banner. Here is what I would like it to include:

    Firebird Club Logo...

    http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/vbp...do=full&p=1471

Large Text Title (Michigan Firebird Club)

Also maybe a quote or something to the degree of Est. 2006.

I would attempt it myself but I think there is a lot more talent in this group than I possess. Also I don't have and publication / photo editing software.

I would like to see what ideas we can come up with. If I can get a desing soon enough I'll have it printed and bring it to our first meeting next sunday and then to each event the group attends.

    Thanks!

    -Ben

    P.S.

The standard size for a banner of this sort is 2' X 5'. It will cost $7/ square foot. I will also work on some other items we will require such as name tags / badges and some other things.

I'll jump right in it. What size to you need the file itself? Does it have to fit on a sheet of paper?

I'm not sure of file size, I don't think it will matter. This design will end up on a 2 foot by 5 foot vinyl sheet banner. What happens is I submit a design to Staples copy center, I pay for the banner uprfront, they send it to a third party company, they have it for a few days and then send it back and I pick it up. So if we can get a design that looks good fast enough I can ship it off and have it ready for our meeting. Kind of a brick in the foundation if you know what I mean.

P.S. David if you or any of the other guys have any ideas for an agenda for the meeting besides eating and meeting people let me know and I will get to work organizing it. Thanks!

I have been talking with Steve (sping012) and I am going to see if he could have a website concept for the meeting. If he can't make it to the meeting i may have to present it for him.

Here is a real simple banner. I was unsure how much detail would be allowed by the print company. Is this being done on vinyl or paper?

                Vinyl.

It appeared that you could have quite a lot of detail from the other examples I've seen. They are closed today so I'll probably take that in tomorrow.

Any way I can get that in a PDF Format? They will only accept PDF or else I would have to pay $30 more to have they design company convert it from Jpg to PDF.

Yeah, that is no problem geting it into PDF. I was just using JPEG as proofs, so that it is easyer to view on the site. If you like that design i can go ahead and put it to PDF, otherwise tell me what else you would like on there and I will add it before I export the PDF.
