  • Michigan Firebird Club needs a new president

Title says it all. Due to changing interests, family growth, and lack of time, I am planning to step down as president and hand the club off to someone who wants to do something with it. I haven't been active in the group for about a year, time for someone else to take over. Anybody interested?

Updated the title so it's a little clearer

Sorry that you have to step down, Mike, but you're absolutely correct in your priorities of family first. I hope the group will get active again to help keep the legend alive!

Thanks Kevin, Brian. My kids are just at that age, you know? Might get back in when they are out on their own, but that's 8-10 years away.

Whose even in this club and is ANYONE even active in it? I have always wondered that as it seems like not much of anything.

I think that was sort of my point, I guess? We used to meet up, we did the judging for a couple of events, sponsored a trophy at the Mifbody Meet and Greet, did a fall color tour... but over the last year or so, I haven't put any time or effort into it. The facebook page is still fairly active, with a fair number of members. The interest seems to be there, somebody just needs to take the helm and start planning things. the "core" of the early group has moved on, grown up, pick your platitude. If nobody is interested, we can officially declare the group dead, and move on. Either way, fine by me.
