  • Another great magazine gone?

I'm not saying it is....I'm asking.

I had bookmarked www.highperformancepontiac.com. Checked it once a week or so.

    Today, I get...

High Performance Pontiac is now part of the Hot Rod Network. All of your favorite automotive editors are here to bring you the same quality and enthusiasm that you came to expect High Performance Pontiac.

    ...and am redirected to...

    http://www.hotrod.com/high-performan...tiac-magazine/

...where i find lead stories about Ford's forgotten smallblock, the Bowling Green hotrod reunion, a Corvette, a Colordao, Wally Park's Plymouth, a Camaro, etc. etc. etc. No Pontiacs in site.

Yeah they did a combining/clean up of magazines and it really sucks. Camaro Performers went away and now it's just "Chevy High Performance" - it works, but it's not the same.

Yep this happened a couple months ago already. I was offered a "free subscription to Hot Rod" in replacement of losing my High Performance Pontiac subscription.

Really? Free? Wow thank you that's great!!...............Wait a minute! I paid for the Pontiac subscription. "Free" my ass!

I don't have anything against Hot Rod magazine, but it's just not my kind of read anymore. Frustrating that all the dedicated magazines I use to get have now gone away. Down to one last subscription, Hemmings Muscle Machines.

Agreed - I enjoyed Camaro Performers because it was all generations of Camaro specifically. I have no interest in reading Chevy High Performance.

I think what I'm going to start doing is returning each magazine to sender.

I wondered where that went. Did they finish Orange Crate?

Sorry - I might be saying the wrong magazine. I haven't paid enough attention on what magazine replaced Camaro Performers - I just know it's not what I want

I like/liked gm high tech and car craft the best. The over-focused ones get stale to me im a car guy not a "camaro guy" or "lsx guy"

As a new Pontiac owner, a subscription to this magazine was on my Christmas list. Scratch that.

This might answer what magazines were "folded"........

Source Interlink Media is shuttering the print editions of Popular Hot Rodding, Rod & Custom, High Performance Pontiac, Custom Classic Trucks, 4 Wheel Drive & SUV, Mud Life, 5.0 Mustang, Modified Mustangs & Fords, Camaro Performers, GM Hi-Tech, Import Tuner and Honda Tuning. Content from those titles will be folded into the company's other titles, Mr. Dickey said. Some of the folded magazines' websites will continue.

Dave I might recommend joining the POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club International). They have a great monthly magazine that comes with you annual membership. Many of the editors/staff from past magazines like Pontiac Enthusiast, High Performance Pontiac are now freelancing with POCI. This should make a already good subscription, even better.

C/D, R/T, etc., I have NO use for. I subscribe to Autoweek...I used to enjoy it, but I really barely read it anymore...takes about 5 minutes to go cover-to-cover. Very seldom there is an INTERESTING article.

POIC is something I plan to join. My next door neighbor (3 Pontiacs, 2 of them Firebirds) is an officer in the Widetrackers. He had a membership packet in my hand before I shut the engine off the day I brought mine home.
