Here is some pictures of the Motor City POCI Pontiac Summer Roundup 2014 that happened on July 19,2014. I wish I took more pictures, but my camera died. Pretty large show and I would go to it again. Seen a few MIFC members Rides there and many other Firebirds. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. Great pics! It was a fun time. There were a couple cars there that I have never seen in person. I took 149 pics and vids, but have not down loaded them yet. Hope to have time later this evening or just do it tomorrow. It was nice that the weather held out for the show!

It was a very great show. It was worth the trip for sure. I wish my camera didn't die because there was a 73 formula super duty, Trans Am super duty, plenty of GTO's, red 93-94 Firehawk, Black 2002 Firehawk, classic Bonnevilles, lots of 1st gen firebirds (including Mikewoods), a couple of GT-37's, and many other nice Pontiacs. For a Pontiac Fan the show was very good. I would highly recommend it for other people to go to next year.
It was nice seeing your car Bob. I love the SOM Firehawk with the IROC spoiler. It was the first time I have seen the IROC spoiler in person and it looks really good.

Nice show, not a ton of cars (maybe 150-180), but some really rare ones. And they let you sit in the Futurliner! That alone was worth the trip...
The 1 of 43 '73 Super Duty Formula (ordered with A/C? WTF?) and the pristine '70 RA IV Trans Am (that the SD owner was trying to buy at the show) were also amazing. There also was a '79 Trans Am ASC Prototype with a sliding moonroof.
And for Greg, there was a perfectly spec'd out '71 GT-37 with a 455 HO and a close ratio 4-speed. Somebody wanted a really fast, no-flash non-GTO, and ordered this sleeper on the cheap.
Would love to see the SD owner's garage. He has a '70 RA IV GTO that he bought new in high school and a '69 Trans Am that he paid $6000 for in the early '80s that he's "done nothing to it other than drive it" since then.
And ranking up there on the "Things That Make You Go Hmmm" List was the '89 TTA nearest to you in the photo above.
It's an original owner, 5000 mile, T-top/cloth car, that he bought new in '89 from the GM employee raffle and took delivery of the car in Pontiac (where all TTAs were prepped for Indy). I had 100 miles on it when he bought it.
So it has all the hallmarks of a Festival Car, but has no number behind the rear license plate (yes, we looked...all original paint).
So...is this a Festival Car that just never made it to Indy? Or did it get to Indy, but wasn't used at the track, and returned to Pontiac? Or is it just a surplus T-top/cloth car, which ironically, makes it far more rare than a Festival Car?
But it was all original, unrestored, and correct right down to the valve stem caps.
Mr. Mattison, you are going to be contacted...

So glad the weather held out for the most part. It was nice to see familiar faces and meet some new people as well. I believe the official count was 129 cars which was considered a great success. I love the rare and obscure stuff that crawls out of hiding for these brand specific shows. In addition to Jeff's 73 Formula SD mentioned above, the 1 of 2 made Grand Am "El Camino", the '86 GP 2+2 Aerocoupe, the 93 Firebird ordered with '0' options. It was as an exciting day for a Pontiac fan to say the least.
Here are some of my shots. It looks like Shawn and I followed each other around and took very similar pictures!

Wow I would really love to see the 73 Formula SD owners garage. There were a lot of rare Pontiacs from all generations at this show. I cannot wait to go back to it next year. I loved seeing the 2+2 Grand Prix, 69 Grand Prix 428, 73 Formula SD, 89 TTA's, 93-94 Firehawks, 02 Firehawks, and the Grand Amino. I was kind of shocked to see 5 Firehawks (including mine) in one show.
Thanks for sharing pics Mike. Looking at your pics makes me feel like I am back at the show. 129 cars is not a bad turn out for sure. If there were any more than that I doubt I would have time to look at all of them.
Kind of a bummer that it started to sprinkle around 2:10pm. A lot of people were leaving including me because I didn't want to get caught up in the rain. The funny part is if you head about 8 miles west there was no rain at all.

The clouds looked menacing, but a sprinkle was all we got. As soon as the awards were over the sun came out...............____ .......

Hearing that makes wish I stayed for the awards. I get afraid of getting water spots on my Firehawk because I spent so much time getting them off of it earlier this year.
It was the perfect weather for a car show because it wasn't too hot and was the perfect temperature. I was comfortable throughout the whole show and didn't have to worry about getting sun burned.
