  • 21st Annual Camaro Superfest Judging

Hello everyone! I have been talking with Barry for a while now, and we have officially been invited back to handle the Judging for Camaro Superfest 2012. Everyone who has been involved in the judging for this show in the past has had a great time, and I'm sure we will see some familiar faces involved this year.

That said, I need a total of 10 judges for this year's event. The judging will be held at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti on July 7th and 8th, but we have been invited to participate in Friday, July 6th's activities as well.

Judging is usually an all-day event on Saturday, and we usually finish up around 2-3pm on Sunday.

Lunch has been provided for us in the past on Saturday, and historically, our judges get together for a late lunch on Sunday at a local restaurant.

Judges will be paid $100 for participating both Saturday and Sunday.

If you are interested, please let me know either by posting in this thread, or by PM. I need 10 judges total. These individuals need to be able to commit to BOTH days of judging, we need to maintain consistency in judging across both days, and switching judges halfway through isn't going to accomplish that.

If interested, please provide your name, phone number, and which generation you'd like to judge, and I will try to accommodate. I will be contacting the judges at least once before the event to provide details about the event.

I am very proud to be a part of this amazing show, and I look forward to another great event! I'd like to extend a BIG Thank You to Barry and the entire EMCC for continuing this great show, and for inviting us to participate again!

    Current Judges List:
    1. Nick (93formulalt1)
    2. Kevin (ktl711)
    3. Mike (Akodo)
    4. Ben (phoenix_rising)
    5.
    6. Mike (MikeM)
    7.
    8. Mike's (Akodo) son
    9.
    10.

    Alternate Judges:
    1. Tom (Akodo's Brother)

Names in green have been confirmed. I'm running down a couple other leads, we are in good shape at this point.

        What Kevin said.
It was a fun experience last year. Lucky we were able to judge the cars under the tents which was ~10 degrees cooler than the field. It was a nice way to see many nice cars and more importanty meet the owners.

I'll send ya PM in the next day about the possibility of helping out.

I'm comfortable with any of the generations, I've owned 1st, 3rd and 4th Gens, and I've judged 3rd, 4th and 5th Gens at prior shows. PM coming soon.

Got it. I'll try to put you somewhere you haven't been before, unless you have a preference. I've always enjoyed judging the 1st and 2nd gens, I always seemed to learn something new with those generations. The owners are always fun to talk to, especially the original owners, they always seem to have some new tidbit of information to share that you wouldn't expect, and they will usually tell you every little thing that they have done to the car.

I had a blast judging last year as well. I'll go again if you still need some people. Lets hope its not QUITE as hot as it was last year......

I judges the 5th gens last year. It was pretty hard, how do you find flaws in cars that are at most 1-2 years old?

Is that a commitment, Mike? haha I'll be giving all the judges a call and sending out an email with more details as the date draws nearer. I'll add you to the list for now, if anything changes for you between now and then, please let me know.

I am glad to see you getting a jump on this. Even though the event is 6 mos away the earlier you can get committments the better. Just do not forget to follow up. If there is anything I can do to help let me know.

Btw thanks for reminding me that we needed a canopy. I am working on that and some new tshirts black this time...

I'm doing some searching of my own for a small canopy, I may see about getting our name and club logo added to one (or custom ordering one), but I'll have to see what the prices look like, since it will be coming out of my pocket. . .

Realistically somewhere between 175-300 is what I have seen. Im interested in what you find. I know a vinyl guy so I will ask him today. I am going to call the screenprinter today to see about some more shirts. Anything else you would like to see for the club?
