Just wondering, seems like MIFC just kind of fizzled and died last year, was wondering if we were going to do anything this year, or if the club was going to fade into obscurity. . .

No offense to Ben, but I thought the nails in the coffin were when he announced he was going into the military and was leaving everyone and then later announced he was leaving the state? Kinda seemed like the only time MIFC really existed was during Camaro Superfest and even then it was really just a group of people from Mifbody under a different name...- Brian Meissen

Maybe new leadership is in order then? Ben's not a bad guy, but he's got a lot on his plate right now, working full time, two project cars, a project bike, and no time to work on them, maybe someone else should hold the reigns for a little while?
I'd really like to see something come of MIFC, but it's not going to go anywhere if we aren't doing anything.Nick H.

Again, not to be a knock against Ben, but having a club that spans the whole state is going to be hard to coordinate meetings and group activities. Having the WMFC and eventually someone creating an EMFC sister club would make more sense.- Brian Meissen

Irresponsibility, indecision, and a lack of cohesiveness amongst the member base is what caused MIFC to fall apart.West Michigan Pontiac Club

Might want to talk with Ben to see if you two can strategize a comeback for the MiFC, but my guess is that you guys are going to need a "critical mass" of people who are willing to take an active part in getting a club up and running. I think you'd want at least four people so you can spread the work out. You probably already have a leg-up in that B would most likely be glad to set up a section in the Forum for the MiFC like he did for WMCC (if he hasn't already), but you need to figure out what you want this club to be, what it's going to offer, and how you're going to market it. I thought at one time the guys at WMFC volunteered to give the MiFC some advice on their experiences in getting started. I'd make that a first step, either by phone, or you guys make a road trip out to the Westside and get a download from as many of the WMFC folks that you can so you can generate ideas. Talk to B to see if you can recruit and/or publicize the MiFC during the Meet & Greet.
Good luck!

Ben and I are no longer on speaking terms due to a falling out last year, so a collaborative effort between him and I is not possible. I was just wondering if anything was going on with MIFC this year, because it seems like it's mostly just Camaro Superfest judging every year, and that's the only event that was going on. There was a high level of motivation when the club first started up, people were excited, but after the "newness" wore off, it seemed like everyone lost interest.Originally posted by ktl711 View PostMight want to talk with Ben to see if you two can strategize a comeback for the MiFC, but my guess is that you guys are going to need a "critical mass" of people who are willing to take an active part in getting a club up and running. As far as I know, MIFC isn't judging this year's Superfest so even that's gone. But speaking of MIFC, what ever happened to Chmleon?- Brian Meissen

Haven't heard from him, and he hasn't been on the site in forever. Last time I saw him was at the GR Metro Cruise a few years back, when the Firebird Club parked across from Berger. That was a while back though, I want to say '07 or '08? It was when I still had my lifted Sonoma, because that's what we drove out there.Originally posted by meissen View PostAs far as I know, MIFC isn't judging this year's Superfest so even that's gone. CHMLEON was at the First Fbodies At the Barns show that we put on, he came late, I talked to him, and I think he left a little early. He must be busy with work.
As far as the MIFC.. I don't think it ever existed more than some internet hopes and dreams, even the berger show meetup was more of an effort by a few of us firebird drivers on mifbody than anything else. Same with camaro superfest.. Ben made plenty of promises that there would be club tshirts, decals, events, blah blah, hate to say it, but from the outside looking in, it looks like when he saw he wasn't going to be able to make profit/success off the club he pushed it aside..-Derek-
