I'd be down as long as we don't end up doing my brothers birthdays that night......they are the 8th and 9th, so we might be celebrating on the 7th...

If you guys want suggestions of where we could go, LMK, this is my home town

We need a place with a festive atmosphere but enough seating for 15-20 people. I am totally open to your ideas guys! Lets hear what you've got. Also do you know about anything worth checking out museums, go karting, mini golf... Whatever.

The only Museum that'd be worth a damn in Lansing is the R.E. Old's Museum.

As for places to get together... There's always BDubs or Hooters... There's Pizza Hut in East Lansing that's pretty slick... There's some really good Chinese places around... All depends on what people want.

Drive-in movie? Eventually I'll save up some $ towards the MIFC and join. Right now it's saving for a clutch, and rear end when they go.

                Vinnie,

I think I will do away with the membership fee. It seems to be more of a hindrance to progess, especially during these trying times. I don't think that to many people were crazy about the idea, plus I do not want someone to stray away just because of lack of funds. Where is the drive in theatre in that area? That actually sounds pretty cool. Might present some awesome photo opportunities too! Feel free to tag along. I have not seen you since the meet and greet and it would be nice to catch up a bit.

What do you guys think about a road trip to Cleveland? I made the drive for work last summer and I love Cleveland. It is an easy drive and easy city to navigate. Lots to do and there is even an air show on the water!

Which area? I've heard of a drive-in somewhere around big rapids but I'll have to do some searching. Not sure how much long-distance stuff I'll be able to do this summer as I'll be taking two maybe three classes and trying to work as much as I can.

Wow that is a very good question. I was thinking Lansing. But after I thought about it I realized that with the invention of the WMFC I should find a location conveinant to East siders. How about Ann Arbor, Jackson, Monroe, or Livonia?

That works. But WMFC...don't you live in Adrian? I thought that was east, well, central south.

He does. I think what he meant is now that the West Michigan Firebird Club (WMFC) has formed there isn't a great need to make MIFC's event centrally located. That was part of the problem with the old MIFC, it was really hard to coordinate something where we could get a good turnout, just because of the great distances between our membership base.

The idea when I talked to Ben before we formed WMFC was that it would free him up to concentrate more on the eastside of the state and us on the westside. With the hopes that as both clubs grew we could have one centralized, combined event a year. That's still my hope.

I'm not going to lie, I hate this "east side" "west side" club crap. It's bullshit for those of us in Lansing... us "Mid-Siders" I guess... lmao... Guess that means there should be a "Mid-Michigan Camaro Club" and a "Mid Michigan Firebird Club"

Eloquently put Scott and Thank You! Yes it is my hope that the changes we make now will make for a stronger and more organized Firebird Enthusiast presence in MI. I am actually floored about the formation of the WMFC because it is so difficult to put into action the plans I have and also it takes a huge load off me. Now I can focus on setting up events, organizing and doing more of the things I really enjoy about the club.

Some additional benefits of these changes include more show possibilities, more member involvement, greater ease of communications and meetings and also a greater flow of ideas and a way to try new things. I am confident that Scott feels the same way. It is my hope that both clubs can come together in future projects and shows and with the death of Pontiac, we can proceed to keep the brand and the passion alive.

The first opportunity for our clubs to work together is the '10 Camaro Superfest. I have extended the offer, with Barry's permission of course, for Scott and his west side folks to work as judges at the Superfest alongside the folks from the East. This makes me very happy. I have many great memories working alongside everyone at the show to make it a great event. Should Barry and the EMCC find any other areas of need where us Firebird club members, the added manpower should prove beneficial and give greater flexibility for those folks who might like to be involved in some fashion yet cannot possibly make the whole weekend.

BTW. I will be posting a thread shortly to locate those folks who would like to be judges at the Superfest. So keep your eyes peeled people!
