Hello Firebird Friends and Camaro Comrades!
I have to make a confession to make. I have been distant from the club the past several months. There were several reasons, the greatest of which is my current job at Firestone. Between putting 60+ hours a week on the job, Commuting back and forth to Ann Arbor, trying to make time for my family, and getting whatever sleep I can I have been very preoccupied. However, I have good news.
I spoke with my supervisor last night and as of this sunday I will be taken off the flat rate / flag hour pay system and going to a steady hourly wage, albeit I will be taking a small pay cut. I should be putting in between 40-50 hours a week which I am hoping means I will qualify for two days off a week. I am very excited about this opportunity since there is no one else at my store who has these accommodations, which for I believe means that they are pleased with my work and wish to keep me.
Having the additional time means that I can get back in order for the 2010 MIFC season! Besides all the great car shows, I am planning a few MIFC get togethers, and I am pleased to announce that thanks to EMCC Barry and the rest of the EMCC, the MIFC has been invited once again to participate at the 2010 Camaro Superfest as judges! It is indeed a distinct honor that our club has had the pleasure of participating in for several years now.
