We could meet in Lansing as it's the most centrally located.
We could then tour the R.E. OLDS museum http://www.reoldsmuseum.org/index.htm for something interesting to do. I called and they are open Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, but would like to know when/how many are coming so they can plan for us. I would be leaning towards either Nov 15th or 22nd. The cost would $3 per person for the tour as long as we had 15 or more people.
From there we could go get a bite to eat somewhere?? or ???
Let me know what you think???
Ok, I had Brian add a poll for a couple dates that have been mentioned.
Please choose a date that works for you and lets see what the majority of us prefers.
I can go on either date so I have no preference.West Michigan Pontiac Club

Hi guys! Checking back in after an absence of several months . . . been very busy with life and personal stuff, and unfortunately haven't really been on MIFbody since shortly after the Dream Cruise. Sorry it's been so long.
Saw this thread and thought it sounded great - I can come either of the next two weekends, but this coming weekend (15th) would be much better. My car is also in storage so I will be driving the DD (my Stealth.) The museum sounds fun. Count me in for whatever!

I tried calling Ben, but his phone is acting up. . .
In Ben's absence of internet access, I guess I'll help to get things situated until he can step in and take over the reigns. . .
Whichever date wins the vote by Thursday should be the date we use. This will give us time to make the proper arrangements for the Museum folks, as well as setting up reservations at a restaurant (if that's what you guys want to do). I know Ben mentioned a possibility of Cruising, which is a great idea, but with 41* and snow in the forecast, I think I'll bring the Wrangler just to be safe. Anybody up for some Winter Beater Cruising? lol
We need to get the basics nailed down first. It would probably be best if we all met up at the Museum first, and we can cruise to the secondary location after we finish our tour.
That said, where do we want to hold our meeting? It's supposed to be cold and snowy, so indoors is a given. I was thinking a restaurant would be ideal, but saturday afternoon is going to be a busy time for any restaurant we choose. Does anyone have any suggestions in this area? I don't know the area very well, in terms of what's available to us and what would best suit our needs, so if anyone has any suggestions, please throw them out there so we can get everything nailed down by Thursday.
Since we currently do not have a Secretary, I would be glad to bring my laptop to take notes of our meeting, and to prepare something for the Newsletter.
Thursday afternoon, I will close the poll and make the proper arrangements with the museum. We are on a short deadline here, so lets get everything finalized so we don't have to worry about it the day of the meeting, it would be better if we could all just have fun!Nick H.

I voted 22nd because the only way im going that far is with the trans am, I dont trust my DD that much and really dont want to drive over there in snow that is predicted saturday. Hopefully the 22nd will be snow and salt free and I can drive the trans am lol.-Derek-

I hear ya, I might still drive the 'bird out on Saturday because, honestly, when is the last time the Weather Report was accurate? lol I took the top off the Jeep last week, the weather report predicted a couple of days of 65*+ weather, and rain was forecasted for the rest of the week. Well, the top was off all week, no rain at all, and instead of the weather dropping back down to 40-something degrees, it stayed around 70*.Originally posted by redfbird99 View PostI voted 22nd because the only way im going that far is with the trans am, I dont trust my DD that much and really dont want to drive over there in snow that is predicted saturday. I'm not going to be able to decide what I'm driving until the day of, but I'm leaning towards the 15th myself, just because it's getting late in the year, and we're more likely to see colder temps and snow next weekend than this weekend, IMO. My car is by no means a summer-only car, I drove it all last winter out of necessity, I'm not afraid of it seeing snow this year. Plus, if we see low temps and snow this weekend, we're also more likely to see salt laid down next week, this Saturday there won't be any salt to worry about. Just some things to consider. lol
In all reality, the Formula is most likely making the trip. It's got the horsepower to keep up with traffic. lol The Jeep has a 4 cylinder and has trouble hitting 55, I won't even try going 70. lol Plus, it's got a completely rotten driver's side floorpan, so it's gonna be a cold trip if I bring the Wrangler, but the Firebird will keep me nice and warm the whole way.
EDIT: Sorry for the long post, here are the Cliffs Notes. . .
Cliffs Notes:
-Cold, but weather reporters are notoriously unreliable.
-Last week, Weather.com was wrong for 5/7 days of local forecasts.
-Bringing Formula (probably) because Jeep is slow, has holes in floor, and it's more fun.
-No salt on roads now, might be next weekend.Last edited by 93formulalt1; November 11th, 2008, 01:00 AM.Nick H.

Hi guys,
Sorry about my absence. It looks like we've got a meeting set up. Lets get voting for the date and I will do some research into the restaurant accomadations. Feel free to bring your kids if it saves you money. Like I said, this will mostly be a fun social event although I may want a bit of time to cover some new ground for next season.
BTW thank you Nick for stepping in for me.
Now if only I could arrange for someone to pick up the club decals from Anthony on the way over...Last edited by phoenix_rising; November 11th, 2008, 11:06 AM.
