  • Fall '08 MIFC Meeting

    All right everyone,

I have had several people asking about having a fall MIFC meeting and I want your input.

    A few things to consider:

    1. Since the west side guys have been so good about coming out to Woodward and that, I would like to host a meeting closer to them.

    2. I should have club decals and some club t-shirts available at the meeting. I am going to have some larger ones and some black ones printed up in the next week or two since the largest gray ones were XL.

    3. I want this to be a fun meeting. So what ideas do you have? I am not sure how many people still have their cars out but maybe we could do a cruise. There are a few things to go over as far as management of the club.

    4. I would like to see as many of the club staff there as possible please.

What do you all have to add?

Ben- Sounds like a good idea. We need to keep things active if we want to continue to grow this club into something great.

As for a date....I believe the sooner the better. Most of us will be more eager to travel when gas prices are lower and the weather is still decent.
Unfortunately, like Mike, I too have put the cars away already.

I'm game for meeting some where centrally located if it makes sense. I'm curious, at this time where are the bulk of our members located?? Knowing this might help determine a proper location that would produce a good turn out.

I was on the website the other day and noticed we still need a Secretary and Treasurer. I'm willing to step up and fill either one of those positions, just let me know what are the expected responsibilities of each position.

I'm willing to fill the other open position if necessary.

I'll throw this out there as an option-

We could meet in Lansing as it's the most centrally located.

We could then tour the R.E. OLDS museum http://www.reoldsmuseum.org/index.htm for something interesting to do. I called and they are open Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, but would like to know when/how many are coming so they can plan for us. I would be leaning towards either Nov 15th or 22nd. The cost would $3 per person for the tour as long as we had 15 or more people.

From there we could go get a bite to eat somewhere?? or ???

Let me know what you think???

I like that idea Scott. BTW thank you for stepping forward to fill one of those staff positions. I will PM you later with details.

How many people would come for this event if we held it in Lansing?

I could probably come. Of course it depends on the exact date.

I could make the trip out to Lansing, depending on the date. Let's make plans and make sure the restaurant is prepared for our group.

It's about an hour and a half for me, but I'm sure it will be a fun trip, and well worth it!

Be warned, I will have my camera and a tripod with me to get some pictures of the awesome Winter Beater action. . .
