Hey guys, you can thank Ben for this, as he convinced me to take some time off work and is going to help with the cost of gas, we will be cruising out together. . . So, long story short, Ben, Jen, and I will be riding out together in an F-Body. . . Might not be the one you all are expecting, however. . . hint hint. . . lol

Unless you've bought something you have told us all about its going to be a red firebird either yours or Bens. Or I guess if you didn't really sell the maro for scrape and fixed it, then it could possibly be it too.

Edit: from the looks of this thread ----> http://www.mifbody.com/vbulletin/sho...888#post327888 It sounds like one of you bought a 3rd gen.

That deal fell through. We were supposed to take delivery yesterday, but the car wasn't even able to drive 1/4 mile under it's own power. . . A true "Project Vehicle."

I'm not at liberty to discuss any details until they are finalized, if at all. Most likely will be cruising out in the Formy that you all already know about, but maybe something different pending the wheeling and dealing I'm working on doing right now. . .

                                Just so you know:

I have been feeling down about my car and been itching to work on an fbody.

I had a trade set up for an '87 Firebird. It was originally a V6 car but it had a SBC 350/350 gen 1 setup, long tubes, nice carb, etc...

The trade was for my dad's 1990 GMC Sunoma 2.8L which we paid $500 for. The truck runs and drives but needs brake and major body work. The Firebird had a cleaner body but the subframe and trans were shot. I test drove the car last week and it drove although no faster than 30MPH.

The car was sitting in tall grass when I test drove it and I was by myself. It wasn't until the other day that Nick was able to drive out and check it out.

When we got there the car would not start nor even turn over. The starter would not disengage, it just kept clicking. When I called the guy about it he claimed I fried the car when I test drove it 1/4 mi down the road.

I called the guy and cancelled the deal, even though he was ready to take the truck home.

In any case I learned some valuable lessons and have since lost any interest in any other cars. I was excited about the idea of finally joining the V8 ranks and learning a lot more about the SBC. But alas it was not to be.

                                End of Story,

P.S. Thank you Nick for talking me out of that mistake. Its a good feeling to know that there really are a couple of folks concerned with one's wellbeing.
