  • A nice little discovery

Last fall I picked up this car to restore, it was a 1986 Trans-Am 305 TPI.
Someone before me did a crappy paint job on it, and during their custom paint job they painted the center caps completely brown.
Well, yesterday I noticed the paint was peeling a bit on one of them so I decided to scrape it off to find that it was not the typical Firebird symbol.
    Instead it said.
Pontiac Performance WS6 in the center.
I thought, now that was a nice to find.

So now the question is: are those the stock original rims?

Well, my 85 TA is definitely a WS6, but the centercaps were just the Silver Birds.
But that could of been because the original owner may have ordered it that way.
I have no clue that the default package WS6 package came with for 85 and 86.

But it was a nice surprise though, I didn't think my 86 was a WS6 at first.

My 87 has the WS6 package, but the center caps just have the bird on them.
Well I sould say they did because I sold the rims last year.

Makes you wonder why he painted them?????

Hey now.. The only 4 Cyclinder F-Body I have ever seen happened to be a 3rd Gen Camaro.
Now talk about Insanity, that was just nuts.
I really wanted to buy that poor car just to put a V8 in it.
