The news you've been waiting for…..

    CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009
    July 3-4-5, 2009

    Riverside Park, Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA

Yes, our dates are set and confirmed. And yes, we are again on the 4th of July weekend. Please believe us… we tried! We really did try to get off of the holiday weekend, as many of our event survey's suggested. But conflicts with the park schedule simply prevented us from acquiring good alternative dates. However, despite our having the holiday dates, we still feel this will again be a Camaro Superfest not to be missed!!

We're also proud to announce that our HQ hotel is again the Marriott at Eagle Crest. And we've worked with the hotel to give you some great rates. We have rates of $99 per night and $109 per night and even an incentive of a $10 gas card for early registration. We'll post all of this information, right after the first of the year! (we're still dotting the i's on the contract)

And we have a HUGE LIST of features for this years event… how about some of these….
    * Participant Judging for awards by body style making up to 9 catagories, PLUS special awards!
    * LOWER entry fee!! Yes, times are tough and we're trying to help!!
    * CSF is supporting another new charity- The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan
    * in support of our new charity, we'll be doing the same great activities- $1 of each spectator
admission goes to charity, silent auction AT the show and 50-50 raffles through-out the
    weekend!
    * Our event t-shirts and swap meet spaces remain the same and are some of the lowest
    prices in the country!
    * We're planning on another great Saturday night "Drive-in movie" at the hotel!
    * We're doing a CAMARO HOMECOMING theme… as we welcome the newest member of
the Camaro family- the new 2010 Camaro!!
    * We're working hard on a Friday evening dinner cruise!

So as you can see… we still have some work to do, but CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009 is shaping up to be another grand event!! Please watch our website, as we'll be posting ALL the final information some time during early January 2009. And we'll post updates as new plans are set. We hope to see you again, or for the first time, at CAMARO SUPERFEST 2009!!

Awesome. I'm pretty sure I'll have to come out for this one, Camaro or not.

I will see if I can start working on getting together club volunteers for the judging since I will not be around later to do it.

To OOflowCamaro... 385 miles is not far away! We've had many people attend from Wisc before and our longest distance has been Texas and New Hampshire! Our event draws 230+ every year... why not be part of one of the premier Camaro events in the USA! Hope you can make it!
OH- here's something to consider... since we're again on the 4th of July weekend, you get a "free" travel day on Friday, as most businesses have that day off for the 4th holiday!

to Phoenix_rising... You and the Michigan Firebird have done a great job in judging for us for the last 3 years and we THANK-YOU for your services. This year our plan is to take a break from the stress of judging and do a participant voting for the awards. Thus, we will not need the club for judging for this year. I do not believe this is a permanent change in our event, and I would foresee us returning to regular class judging in 2010... and YOU will be the first on our list to contact for judges at that time.
We decided on this change for 2009 for two reasons... as mentioned- to give everyone a break from judging stress and to save some money and make our event cost less to the participants!! With the savings from paying your club for judging, no tent and less awards... we have lowered the entry fee for this year!! I don't have my meeting notes in front of me... but I believe it was $20 for everyone for this years event. With no formal judging, we also don't need the Driver's Class entry... so everyone and anyone can win an award!!

And YES, we'll keep our tradition of awards per body style, as opposed to strict generations... so that still means more awards than some other events!

More event details in the coming weeks!!

I moved all the off topic discussion about the differences in body styles to a new thread just so we're not cluttering up the Superfest discussion thread.
