Lucky SOB
Here's what Fred had to share about their 1967 Firebird Convertible:
Let me start off by saying, this is my Mom's car and I'm proud of it!
My Dad went in halfsies with a friend and bought the car about 20 years ago (when I was 5 years old). The car was in rough shape, needed floor boards, bodywork, paint, exhaust, etc. They had it restored to 'driver' condition and when my Dad brought it home for the first time, my Mom had to have it. So my Dad ended up buying out his friend for the other half and we've had the car ever since. For about 15 years, we enjoyed driving it and it spent most of it's life doing laps on Woodward or heading to A&W for 'Cruise Night'.
Then a few years ago we decided to freshen the engine up to get it ready for a 1000 mile car tour around Michigan. So we pulled the original 326 and sent it off to be rebuilt. While it was gone, we ordered a truckload of new parts from NPD and worked to freshen up the engine bay to receive its original heart. It was a great Father/Son project that received a lot of help from some great friends and guys on this site.
Here are some pictures of the rebuild.

This car also got me into F-bodies, so when it was time for me to get my own... I had to match my mom
