  • My ride, front clip transplant pre and post.

I started with my 1993 camaro, that I acquired about 3 weeks ago, is originally a V6, now a Lt1/t56 driveline, new lightweight driveshaft, 4:10 posi rear, and SLP suspension, plus more stuff, says in sig. This is how I got the car aside from the clutch, which will be getting installed tomorrow.

So I went thursday out and got a couple parts from a guy parting his car, he decided he was going to scrap the car while I was there (2002 v6 model), and mentioned that I could have any parts I needed, as my old front clip was busted up quite a bit, I took that whole assembly being hood, fenders, bumper, lights, mounts etc etc... along with a 4l60E that shifts wonderfully, the cross-member, shifter, and partial console... so I decided I would put my new front clip yesterday, and finished up today, aside from paint (which was already pretty awful looks like it was painted with a mop, or perhaps a hose . My car already had the newer version front clip, so I re-swapped so to speak, it all hooked up no problem and I am quite happy with the result, I will add a better finish pic tomorrow, as it is dark out now. Tomorrow I start the clutch swap, new slave cylinder, and stage 3 kit I am installing as well.

Pictures are in order from when I got the car up to now, updated pictures of the new clip will be added tomorrow morning.

Thanks man, your car is outrageously awesome.

I will say, all of this work would be easier in a concrete driveway.

SS badge was previous owner, was off of an older impala or chevelle, not sure which... Never noticed the trans am seats, until you guys pointed it out, doesn't matter to me, as they are quite comfortable, here is an update after installation and some spray paint LOL.

What was changed? I mean the first pictures are a 98+ front clip and so are the current pics?

I took the original swap off the car (was struck in a parking lot by a chevette before i got it ) So I got a set that was in better condition and put them on. It looks much better. You cant tell much in the pictures of it before the re-swap, as they were not very good pics, but the front driver side fender was cracked pretty bad, the hood had 2 major cracks and 2 more minor cracks, and the bumper sagged down from the hood about 2 in or so. Now it lines up much better and doesn't make odd sounds when doors are opened or people get in or out.

As of right now, the driveshaft, shifter assembly, starter and torque bar are out, tomorrow is the trans, and master cylinder. fun fun fun.... Clutch swap is proving to be a bit harder than expected.

Not a whole lot, money is kinda tight right now, i planned on doing it this winter, this it to hold over until I can get it done. I have been debating the whole Dipyourcar deal, seems like it wouldnt be all that great, plan was silver body color, gloss black wheels and roof. tinted out windows and smoked lights.

Max for paint I was looking at $750 but that is really high end dollar wise, I was intending to find somebody who would barter, and do a trade to get it done, that is the best way to get things done for the money IMO.

Gotcha, I'm in the middle of buying a house and ill be painting on the side.

materials alone are around $800-$1200 depending on quality of materials, if any filler is needed, how much primer is needed ect.
