I'd also like to get one of their splitters but im not willing to pay even half of what they are charging.

IMO instead of using a harness bar just cheat with the seat. Push the seat further back than you would normally sit and then put the seatbelt on. Once it's tight push the seat back up into your normal driving position. It should be much tighter and actually hold you in pretty well. It won't work for giants like Joel but it will work for normal people.

IIRC, I think there's a thread floating around where he had thought about building some. I don't remember where that left off.

Yes, I am waiting to get my seats installed for shoulder belt purposes. Then I will decide whether to take it to him or to this place in OH. I

I am going to spend a little more and have a 4 point roll bar. It will weigh more but it will add structure and will be safer in an accident

But a bender for roll bar tubing isn't very much

I would be shocked if Johnny had a manual pipe bender.
Most people who build mandrel exhaust buy the bends in bulk and assemble the exhaust. A mandrel bender is big money $40,000+

I'll see if I can dig up the article later tonight. In an issue of Camaro Performers, they installed one on their Camaro. Black Betty.. IIRC the price wasn't to bad either.

Agreed on the 6LE stuff. Ridiculously priced

I figure I'll skip the bar and just get a cage. In the mean time I will be using the seat adjuster to cheat.

The 6LE bar mounts to the rear seat belt mounts, so youre good with that one too as long as you dont plan on anyone sitting back there... Probably shouldnt with a bar for their head to slam into anyway.
