Hi, I'm Joe from Rochester Hills. I'm an engineer working on weatherstrips in the automotive industry, mostly GM. I was laid off in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic and was in need of a daily driver. My 2013 Buick Verano timing chain tensioner snapped. A friend sent me a post for a 1998 Firebird V6 for $1,200. I checked it out and noticed a bunch of issues, so the seller dropped the price to $650. Over the last few years, I did quite a bit of work on the car, but it's still so far from being reliable and looking halfway decent. Parts are getting more expensive and more difficult to find. I am going to part out for the next week or two before selling for scrap. Here are a few of the things I did to the car:
