Do air foils on the throttle body make a difference?

If it "added 5 hp" it probably didnt add any hp.... dyno numbers are always different after each run.

Save yur money.. buy something that is going to net you legit power gains

Back when I used to run TPI stuff I had a noticeable gain on both a 305 and a 350 engine and would recommend it. Of course find the best price you can and even look for a used one as nothing can go wrong with them obviously. $20 to $30 sounds good and remember people spend $150 + on the LS1 cars for a similar gain from an air lid which is just a piece of vacuum formed plastic. The air foil won't give you 50 magical HP but is will help throttle response much like porting the TB on a LS1 engine.

Somewhere around here I have an OLD copy of a book from TPIS from the 80's where they went step by step and changed pieces like the air foil, air filter, runners, plenum, milled MAF heat sink fins, and they even tried a Corvette air box stock and modified, Camaro and Firebird air filter boxes. Each piece was attached to a flow bench to measure the airflow change in CFM. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but the air foil did increase the CFM through the throttle body which makes sense as the GM TPI throttle body is about as aerodynamic as the front of a city bus.

Hp to $ ratio isnt exactly optimal at $50. I'd pick it up for $25 or so.

increase at what condition, what pressure drop, total flow rate, etc..????

its a proven fact that things like this arent truly tested, they just "look cool" so people would buy them.

I paid $30 for mine off ebay several years ago. I noticed an increased sucking sound in the intake. If you look at the throttle body you wonder why this was never machined into it right off the bat. I would buy one, just don't spend $50

honestly for 50 bucks.. It aint worth shit. If you buy an aftermarket TB it will have it already. It doesnt do shit.

You will probably see a little gain when your pushing 500 hp or more.
I've got one on my little 350.
