the car feels more solid hitting speed bumps, doesnt creak as much but thats about it. I can feel that its there, but as far as a handling gain... no not really. I got mine used cause it wasnt worth that much to me either.

I worked on w-car for quite a while and we actually measured loads in that tower-tower brace. It wasn't much of anything. So we got rid of it on the new w-cars. Some vehicles have them that don't need them, and some do need them. Sometimes it depends on what the vehicle chief wants, even if it doesn't make sense.Originally posted by willasc View PostI've been wondering about the same thing but I bought one anyways. Oh well, either way. I saw one on my W-Impala, I figure GM doesn't spend money on parts that really isn't needed, so I figure it has to do something.
The purpose is just as a brace. On our cars since the towers are not tied into the rest of the body structure very well I think it does increase the stiffness and does help brace the towers. I don't have data to show this. It can't help body roll or anything, just stiffens the towers.

I have one, never gained anything from it. To me it is an appearance mod and not a suspension mod.
