Yeah, i really like the lope of the gm847 cams, but after looking up some of the A.I. packages some of the other guys recommended i'd like to go with one of those. Still not sure whether i want to do aftermarket heads or just p&p the factory ones, but i for sure am going to do head work. from what ive looked up though im still a few $$$ short... For now im just gonna focus on buttoning up some of the smaller things on the car like body work, headlight motor, etc. n plan on starting a build this winter. Plus im in the middle of doin fuel injectors on my diesel which is a nightmare...

look on my page I only have a lt4 hot cam, lifters, 1.6 rockers, springs, intake, exhaust, and dyno tune and I am at 355 rwhp.. Even though now I wish I had port/polished heads and intake mannifold and a throatier cam, but I guess then I would have to do some other mods to support the extra power.... TO be completely honest with you with what I have done now I cant get any traction(to me its counter productive) but Im sure some drivetrain work and good tires would change that.

Marketing. Line them up when they were new I doubt you would have seen a noticeable difference.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View Post96 and 97 cars had 285 and a ss with a super dooper intake made even more.

Stock lt1s didnt come with headers
. But yes my estimate is on the high side. A stock stock one is probably around 250-260 at the wheels.

Really? a stock lt1 puts out 300? I thought they were only rated like 275 at the flywheel? n thanks for the input, I have money saved up... but idk how my significant other would feel about me droppin 2 grand on it when in her opinion "it runs fine the way it is" haha. Ill have to do some negotiating i suppose n see if i can get everything for it by winter.Originally posted by JoeliusZ28 View PostKeep saving. I spent over 2k doing everything to mine and i did the tune myself. $400 of that was in the heads (i did a valve job while it was apart). Dont just use whatever cam. The right specs make a big difference. From all the research i did, (and i did a lot during college classes
) I think AI uses just the right amount of LSA and advance for a fun street personality.
A stock lt1 with headers probably makes close to 300rwhp.

Where ur car is, is pretty much exactly where id like to b with mine. I'll have to start looking around for cams then, there's a place by my house called d&s engines that people i know have had heads done there for fairly cheap so i may look into that also. Not tryin to spend over a grand at this point though. So if i have to i can wait til later n upgrade. Do any of u know what the baseline for an lt1 stock would put down at the rear wheels?

Don't have over a grand? You can't do anything but say suspension parts. A cam swap alone will cost on the better side of a 1000.
