Hey guys,
It looks like fall is around the corner, since I now have a garage to work out of, I want to get an early start on working on the camaro so I can actually drive it next summer instead of staring at it in the garage with a wistful longing in my eyes lol.
I already have the interior out and plan on putting it on jackstands one way or another in the next few weeks.
Since Shelby and I's wedding is now out of the way and I finally started using my GI bill, I should have some money to play with.
The first thing I wanted to do is clean up the under body and wheel wells (I'd like to do the engine bay too but dont have the tools/knowledge to pull the motor) and put on some sound deadener on the inside and a nice shiny black protective coat on the outside.
I read a few threads already and I think I'll start with a rust neutralizer like this stuff that some of you were talking about.
I have read stories stories on more forums then this one that por-15, rustbullet and other rust "converters" are a crapshoot at best and a can of empty promises at worst. SO I figure its best to "kill" the rust before painting over it.

After that though I'm a little lost, Do I need to wire wheel and sand the entire underbody and interior floor pan? or just spray it down with a good degreaser?
I want a sound deadener but I really don't want to use dynamat or something like it, I'd rather do a coating. So I was looking at this stuff called lizard skin, a bit pricey but not horrid, the only thing is they want you to spray it and I dont have the equipment and no experience working with a sprayer, Im pretty good with a rattle can but thats about it . I really would like to brush it on as silly as that may seem.
I did see that rustoleum makes a rubberized undercoating that has some sound deading properties and comes in brushable form but I doubt its as good as lizard skin is supposed to be.
Anyway, I was hoping some of you have done this before and might have some advice/ suggestions.
