Well, Ray wants to join the Mifbody crew, and the Firebird club, so put him down as a guaranteed will be there. I'm always good for pulling in a couple of extra guys if necessary, but like you said, lets try to get as many actual firebird club members as we can.
Seriously guys, its a blast, not very hard work, and a ton of fun. The fact that you get paid for it is just gravy. Join us!

Time is growing shorter and shorter. . . We still need 6 more judges. This is going to be a great time, I really don't know of anyone who couldn't enjoy themselves spending a weekend looking at amazing vehicles, meeting great people, and hanging out with people like us. Well, people like everyone else, I'm kind of a jerk. Haha

Friday's festivities will include laps at Waterford Hills Road Course, and in lieu of attending the tour of the COPO Build Center (as attendance is limited), the MIFC folks will find something fun to do (maybe go-carts or mini golf in Hell, I know we had a blast at our last MIFC event in Hell, and I know I'm not the only one who wouldn't mind going again.

If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me by Private Message. I can also be reached by email at mifirebirdclub@gmail.com. If you wish to contact me by phone, I will gladly provide my number.

Please keep in mind, the Michigan Firebird Club is absolutely free to join!

Alright folks, let's keep this updated somewhat frequently. I don't want it to constantly sink to the bottom of the pile.

I'd like to have all of our judges selected prior to the day of/day before the event. I will no longer be calling in favors with friends to cover the slack, with the number of members the MIFC has now, we should EASILY be able to pull 10 people together for 2 days. This is an easy weekend, you look at beautiful cars, get paid, free lunch, and spend time getting to know like-minded individuals. I've never heard anyone say that they didn't enjoy themselves at these events in the past, and I don't anticipate we will anytime soon.

Please contact me via PM or email at mifirebirdclub@gmail.com if you have any questions, or would like to participate. This is open to Camaro owners as well, but MIFC Judges can NOT have their vehicles judged at this event.

I'll have mine (whatever new one I get), Mike should have Dusk up and running by then, and I'm hoping Mike M. will chime in soon, he's been judging this show as long as I have, so we can probably talk him into bringing his LS1 out for the weekend.
Of course I will be there with the T/A . . . as the only Firebird owner who actually brought one to the judging this past year I'm morally obligated to keep the tradition going!

As others have said this event is a lot of fun for the judges, especially if you love inspecting all these beautiful vehicles at close range . . . and it's not ALWAYS as hot as it was this year!

Maybe next year I'll have to ask Angie if I can borrow her 'Bird to take to the show, it'll give me another chance to fall in love with those awesome Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires again!

But if not, I'm at least planning on doing a "Firebird mod" to my car. Atrus (Kevin) is looking to completely eliminate his external antenna for a smoother look on his 2002 vert, but I'm going to try the middle route and just go with the Trans Am's power antenna. It'll look better when parked, and will give me just as good (if not better) reception as I get now. It's not much, but at least I'll have one Pontiac part on my Camaro to justify my honorary Michigan Firebird Club membership!

They will be running. No doubt in my mind. Maybe even, dare I say, CLEAN?! haha I can't remember having mine out there for CSF when I actually bothered cleaning it beforehand. . .

Dusk will be there if I have to chain her to the bumper of my mini van and TOW it around the track!

Just to let anyone who's interested but unaware of the "Fringe Benefits", this is what you get:

    $100 cash
    Event T-Shirt
MIFC T-Shirt (If you don't have one already, and your size is available)
    CSF Dash Plaque
"Goodie Bag" with all kinds of neat stuff
Free lunch on Saturday (we had gourmet pizza at the 2012 event)
Free admission to the show and Friday's event

In addition to this, you get to spend some time looking at some of the most amazing f-bodies on the planet, get to know the leadership and other members of the Michigan Firebird Club, and meet some great Camaro owners, both from MIFBody and elsewhere.

I think this will be my 6th year judging this event, and my 2nd as the President of MIFC. I can honestly say that although it may be hot, muggy, and downright dangerous as far as weather goes, it's still an event I look forward to every year. I wouldn't miss it for the world, and I challenge you to take advantage of the opportunity.

Not to mention, I always get a response when I drive a Firebird in blaring "East Bound and Down" by Jerry Reed with the windows down. Priceless.

This will be my what, 3rd, 4th year judging? I can say that despite the heat, we have a lot of fun, and get to see these cars up close and personal. The fringe benefits are just gravy. Now to get Dusk up and running for a lap or two at MIS.....
