96 Z28 ABS/TC Issues

So I'm finally home for Christmas break, so I want to get some work done on the car (especially since I probably won't have enough time in the month I'm home between graduation and moving into my apartment). One of the things that needs fixing is the ABS/Traction Control, which hasn't worked as long as I've owned the car). Yeah I know that I can get along fine without it (I have the last two summers), but if something on the car is supposed to work, I would rather have it work, you know?

So anyway, last time I had it somewhat looked into (which was about 2 years ago), the shop said they tried to scan the ABS module and they simply couldn't communicate with it, no matter how they tried. So do you think that I just need a new ABS module, and my ABS/TC will work? Or is there another issue?

Check for power and ground to the ABS module and load test these circuits. Check the data link circuits to the ABS module for any opens or shorts.

It is sometimes very close to the ABS HCU under the hood. Check for a module connection where the aluminum block where all of the brake lines connect to. That would be the ABS module if there is a wiring connection.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Is the ABS module compatible from LS1 cars to LT1 cars, as long as they have traction control?

No. And its under the driver side frame rail, by the abs pump.
