  • F/S 3800 L67 Rods - Used $30

I have a set of L67 rods that I bought for my motor, and I cannot use them because of the different length.

I bought them off of a guy from a different board, and came out of a 98 motor. They look straight, but I can't guarantee as a machinist hasn't seen them. They dont wobble, and they look flat on a straight edge.
I paid over $50 for them to my door.

$30 for the set, Plus S&H to your door.
Photos available if interested. (Let me know what you want to see)

what do you mean different length? are they stroker rods or something?

      L67 is the supercharged engine.

Exactly. The L67 rods are shorter than a L36 Non-Supercharged.

I do have a freshly ground/machined crank sitting in a sealed bag..... and at the rate I'm going trying to find a cheap pair of rods.. the crank may be up for grabs soon... along with the .030 Hyp pistons.. new cam...block, fresh heads...etc.

let me guess.. rod knock? i have a l67 sitting in my garage that needs a new crank and set of rods, wore the crank down .032" the max i am willing to have it ground down is .030" so this crank is out of the question

No. This crank came out of a PowerPro remanufactured engine. (Stay far away!)

After it wore out at 60K miles, only the crank and the rods WERE salvageable.. that is...until Rogers Crank & machine got their hands on them.....
I had to get all the machine work re-done elsewhere and re-checked.
Old Rods now junk, but crank is OK to use. It's down 0.030" on the mains, rods are 0.020"
Oddly enough they are capable of going 0.040" - but you might as well put bubble gum between the rod & crank.

For a daily driver the crank is fine. But your through the heat treat at 0.020".
                Performance use....mmm I wouldn't.

I know you can get a reman crank out of Autozone and Northern Auto for around $150 with bearings - but I would imagine it's luck of the draw on what they grind them at. I would imagine they grind all to 0.030".

Your best bet could be to do what I'm doing -find a core that hasn't thrown a rod and just polish or light grind 0.010"
(And then I'll buy the rods off of you - sounds good, doesnt it???)
