Sure would be. Though I'd settle for just about anything that got me inside GM or FCA.

Did anyone apply yet? What are you waiting for?

Jeff, you can talk to them about relocation if it is more than 35 miles I think (don't quote me on that).

If you have an engineering degree you should apply. That is probably the toughest one to get around in a big company like GM.

Being an engineer in the Big 3 isn't about doing math and physics equations. It is about solving problems with parts and vehicles, working inside a pretty stringent process, building relationships to achieve your goals, and basically not being a complete idiot. The engineering degree is like boot camp for problem solving. Understanding how to approach problems and reaching consensus solutions is what it is all about.

So if you have an engineering degree - apply!

I wouldnt be afraid of applying without an engineering degree. I don't let a piece of paper define me.

My concern with a job like this is that while its awesome, departments like GMPP, SRT, Ford Racing, etc are always the first to get hit the major cuts in a recession. If i was sitting on a nice pile of money already and could afford the risk id probably apply for the hell of it. Right now its not in my best interests anyway, but hopefully someone who appreciates the position gets it!
