Ben, I have to agree with some other's comments - really all you need is name, address, home phone, & e-mail, and of course all the info on your 'Bird. Other personal info should be optional and clearly stated so, such as birth day (not year), occupation if they want to give it, etc. It's not a matter of us trusting you, we know you and trust you, but new members won't know (at first) what this info is for and may be uncomfortable.

Also, don't you think dues (if we are going to charge them) should be handled separately? I suppose we must have dues, although personally I think it would be better to find a few fund-raising venues (like the judging) where members can volunteer and the money goes to the club. Before we charge anyone money, though, I think we should also agree as a club, what it will be spent on. All good topics for the next meeting I think.

Anyway, just my two cents, thanks for keeping this alive and active!

I don't mind giving out some job details.

On the flip side, i also don't want people calling my during my off work time wanting me to Troubleshoot stuff that my company makes.

I do my job to have money to mod my bird. That is it.

WMCC uses the birthdate for birthday annoucements in the newsletter. We also have employers list in our roster for Reference. Make it nice when looking for something or help. Kinda like the Yellow Pages. LOL

Like I posted earlier, this draft came from a Microsoft Template. I have been adding and subtracting items all day. Work Info is in regards only for what do you do for a living purposes, birthdays for announcements and scheduling, and the emergency contact section I removed earlier but for cruises and such would be helpful to notify family members in case of an incident on the roadways. Which being a car club we are all too familiar with. Lets see, how many of us have not been in an accident? Also if you look at the some of the cruises like Hot Rod Power tour where they expirience losses about once or twice a year.

Unless someone wanted my SSN, my mother's maiden name, my work phone numbers, credit card numbers or such I would not worry about identity theft. Not much you can do with Name, Address, Phone Number, and Birthday. These are general things that can be looked up easily. Most of them available via a google search or going to the library. Trust me I am not out to get you.

    Is age really important?

    Just thinking about identity theft...

Also is there a cost difference for a joint membership?
I don't think you will have to worry about that Jeff. All applications will be filed with myself or Angie. I have no interest in becoming you Jeff! In any case the reason I am requiring this on the application is so that we can easily reference birthdays. This information would only be used for birthday announcements or for scheduling purposes. If you don't feel comfortable giving out the year of your birth, just leave the month and day.

As far as the cost for adding a spouse. I am not sure. I knowe the WMCC does, but most of their spouses also drive Camaros.

Here is a screen cap of the revised app...

    Yeah, I kinda agree.

Or does the membership come with a new Michigan Firebird Club Visa card?

And what are you going to do with the information when you get it?

Trans Am Pimp. The application form you see was a general club application I found on Microsoft Office Online. I have been working on revisions since early this morning. Thank you for the suggestion, luckily I took care of that several hours ago. I took the employment info section as merely informational. What did you do for a living, what kind of person are you, etc etc etc.

Why do you need employer info? I'm new to this car club thing, but that sounds like your starting to get a little personal. Maybe just asking occupation would be better?
