  • So I bought a truck

I finally was able to sell my focus, and tonight after looking for a little while ended up finding a truck that I really liked, so I jumped on it!

    2008 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE-1
    Z71 4x4
    Crew Cab
    5.3 Vortec
    66k miles

so far I love it! its super nice, it has a bunch of ugly chrome accents, but all in all its a super nice truck.

Nice truck! As Joel said, definitely lower mileage for that age - it seems like people buy a truck and instantaneously put on 100,000 miles.

I'm assuming all the added-on chrome will come off with a heat gun?

Nice! The chrome lip on the wheel wells definitely needs to go. At least it hasn't been attacked with a Lund catalog.

I think the handles will come off with a heat gun, but it looks like the trim over the wheels is held on with screws

          also a few more photos.

Gah! They got the fuel filler door! /sigh

Not that I'm a minimalist that's into shaved handles or anything, but I don't get blinging out the filler door, unless you're driving an AC Cobra or similar.

the filler door doesn't bother me as much as the door handles and fender trim, its not something i would have paid money to do personally, but all in all i love the truck regardless

I ordered a double din android head unit with backup camera for the truck, going to install in here soon, excited to see how it turns out.
