LT1 torque converter in 3rd gen 305?

My brother's been having some torque converter problems with his '86 Z28. It's a carbed 305 mated to a 700R-4 (at least I'm pretty sure it's a 700R-4). I have a stock C4 Corvette torque converter that I had in my car for a while, and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be worth anything if I try to sell it. Will it work in his car? If it does, I'll just give it to him.

I know this is an old post, but a LT1 torque converter will bolt behind a one piece rear main sbc for sure.

I totally forgot about this thread haha. That converter is still sitting in my garage....I guess I'll just give it to my brother then!

Yes, a regular one piece rear main seal sbc crank can be used in the LT1 block, so the same flexplates can be used and therefore converters.
