    This is how to unlock a THEFTLOCK or DELCO-LOC II audio system

    DELCO-LOC II

    Disabling the anti-theft feature

    1.) press the sterio's PREV and FWD buttons at the same time for five seconds with the ignition on and the radio power off. The display will show SEC, indicating the unit is in the secure mode (anti-theft feature enabled)

    2.) Press the set button. The display will show "000"
    3.) Press the SEEK button to make the first number appear.
    4.) Rotate the TUNE knob right or left until the second and third digit of your code appear. The numbers will be displayed as entered.
    5.) Press the band knob. "000" will be displayed
    6.) Press the SEEK button to make the fourth number appear.
    7.) Rotate the lower knob until the fifth and sixth digits of the code are displayed.
    8.) Press the lower BAND knob. If the display shows "_ _," you have sucessfully disabled the anti-theft feature. If SEC is displayed the code you entered was incorrect and the anti-theft feature is still enabled.

    Unlocking DELCO-LOC II after a power loss

    when power is restored to the stereo, the stereo won't turn on and LOC will appear on the display. Enter your ID code as follows;

    1.) Turn the ignition switch to ON, but leave the stereo off.
    2.) Press the set button. The display will show "000"
    3.) Press the SEEK button to make the first number appear.
    4.) Rotate the TUNE knob right or left until the second and third digit of your code appear. The numbers will be displayed as entered.
    5.) Press the band knob. "000" will be displayed
    6.) Press the SEEK button to make the fourth number appear.
    7.) Rotate the lower knob until the fifth and sixth digits of the code are displayed.
    8.) Press the lower BAND knob. If the display shows SEC appears, the numbers you entered were correct and the stereo will work. If LOC is displayed the code you entered was incorrect and the stereo will be inoperative.

    THEFTLOCK

    1.) Press the stereo's 1 and 4 buttons at the same time for five seconds with the ignition on and the radio power off. The display will show SEC, indicating the unit is in secure mode (anti-theft feature is still enabled)
    2.) Press the MIN button. the display will show "000."
    3.) Press the MIN button to make the last two numbers appear.
    4.) Press HR to display the first one or two numbers of you code. The numbers will be displayed as entered.
    5.) Press AM/FM. The display shows "_ _," you have successfully disabled the anti-theft feature. If SEC is displayed, the code you entered was incorrect and the anti-theft feature is still enabled.

    Unlocking the stereo after a power loss

    when power is restored to the stereo, the stereo won't turn on and LOC will appear on the display. Enter your ID code as follows;

    1.) Turn the ignition switch to ON, but leave the stereo off.
    2.) Press the MIN button. the display will show "000."
    3.) Press the HR button to make the last two numbers appear.
    4.) Press the HR button until the first one or two numbers appear
    5.) Press AM/FM. SEC shoulld appear, indicating the stereo is unlocked. If LOC appears, the numbers you have entered were not clorrect and the stereo is still inoperative.

      Good write up. BTW If you do not know your ID code (Different for each stereo unit) you can get it from any GM dealership.

        You may have to check with a few dealerships before getting one to just give you your code. Most of them would rather charge you $$ to unlock it.

        Locally I think they get $75 a pop to unlock your radio. Crazy when you see how little is involved in doing so.
