yea, i spoke wrong on that, i meant i thought that they take your vin # and call the GM number and get the radio number....BUT that was wrong too I guess lol.
As my95z28 stated, they take a # off the top of the radio. I never knew that, but i wasn't completely sure on the entire process either

There is no code set from the factory. It's owner settable. Besides, printing it in the owners manual would defeat the purpose of it being a theft locked radio. If thieves knew the unlock code was in the owners manual, they'd just grab that too and then use it in anything.

That is assuming you keep your owners manual in your car.

I think it goes something like this.

    Theftloc Bypass

    1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed
    2. Write the numbers down.
    3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
    4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 139010*, when asked enter the 4 or 6 digit code (obtained from Steps 1-3) from the radio and an *, for example using my code, 702712*, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
    5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.
Note: If your radio is unlocked the red theftlock light will not flash. In this case you can remove the battery and will have no problem. If it is flashing it means it is activated. You can deactivate it but you need to have the code to do it.
