  • how to remove EGR on lt1

    As the title says, How do you remove the EGR valve on a 95 LT1. I got the vacuum hose off of the passenger side of it, but cant figure out how to finish the job. ANy help would be appreciated.

        1993-97 5.7L ENGINE
        See Figure 10
        1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
        2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the EGR valve.
        3. Unfasten the retaining nuts, then remove the EGR valve from the vehicle. Remove and discard the gasket.
        4. Clean the EGR valve gasket mating surfaces.

        To install:
        1. Position a new gasket, then install the EGR valve on top of the gasket.
        2. Install the retaining bolts and tighten to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
        3. Attach the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
        4. Connect the negative battery cable.
