It's still at least 18 months out . . . last I heard the intro was planned for January 2009 as a 2010 model. As far as availability, who knows?? but I think they are planning for pretty good volumes, so V6s and the small V8s shouldn't be too bad. The big V8 will be hard to come by, though, I'd guess.

Personally, if I was planning to buy one, I'd wait a year anyway, let them work out the production bugs first.

Start of production is July of next year.

The Challenger pulled their SOP ahead to April of next year to beat it to market.

not like that was difficult for them to do or anything. Any other company could have a car done in under half the time it takes GM. Not that i want GM to "rush" and produce a poor product... I want them to get a car done in a normal ammount of time. This car is gonna be stale by the time it comes out. The things already been in music videos more than 6 months ago.

Yeah, there's a couple of important differences between them.

The Challenger is based of the existing LX platform...the Zeta is all new.

The amount of scrutiny the Chyrsler execs have on the Challenger is amazing...daily freakin' 7:30 conference calls, trying to explain how engineering works to MBAs...

"Why didn't you kick off production tools yesterday?"

Because you directed us to do a major design change yesterday.

"So are you going to kick off production tools today?"

No, we actually have to DO the design change and then test it...you're two weeks out from kicking off tools.

"Unacceptable...we want a recovery plan by close of business today."

                  Dumbasses.

It's like trying to herd cats.

                  O.K...rant off...lol...

So, while Chevy takes their time doing it right, Chrysler is going to be delayed.

Oh no, it'll launch in April.

Come hell or high water...it'll launch.

                      We have plenty of time.

And we haven't even started breaking rules yet.

                      Validation testing not complete...it'll launch.

                      Not PPAP'd...it'll launch.

                      Validation testing not STARTED...it'll launch.

                      Guar-oon-freakin'-teed...
