  • Not getting good bass signal from monsoon

I got 2 jl audio 12-w3 d6's on a class d amp. I wired the setup in my camaro with a dual 12'' box and this setup POUNDS ridiculously loud, it got the signal from rca through an aftermarket hu.

I wired the setup to my trans am that has stock monsoon system through speaker level inputs and I am just not getting any bass. If i crank bass boost up on the amp it thumps a little bit but I am not getting the right setup. What is the cheapest way to get this setup working? My amp takes speaker level inputs as well as rca.

Speaker imputs are junk! Like B said, get rid of the Monsoon for somethign worth having. For a stock system it rocks but anything more then that you might as well be running a Walmart amp

      RUN RCA's!!!!

I think you did what I did on my first system. You cannot use the rear speakers for the input. You have to get the signal from the speakers next to the rear seats not the back ones

for the monsoon system in my brothers car, we had to use the wiring by the amp in the spare tire area. Worked great and his subs pound nicely without needing RCAs

Yeah i mustve wired it to the rear speakers instead of the rear sail panel speakers... that could be the problem...

Alright i wired it up to one of my rear sail panel speakers... It still isn't the strongest signal but it is enough to thump. Probably got the monsoon maxxed out... Does anyone know if i get a pac- oem, will my signal be stronger?

I am wondering because i have had the setup wired up to my camaro in the exact same wway but it has aftermarket hu, and it POUNDS at 60% amp power w/o any bass boost,

The monsoon is makin me max my amp and turn up the bass boost.

the monsoon amp maxes out at 50 dirty watts or so, get teh pac and the subs and amp will be much happier (or get rid of trhe audiovox sourced junk altogether and get something decent)

How much of an improvement will I get with the pac, if it's just a little bit, prob not worth it, if it is a lot, il ldo it.

daisy chaining off the monsoon is going to give you poor signal, and it will also abuse the speakers more because you wont hear them distorting when youre trying to get bass from youre subs. I think youve found youre next mod jon - bye bye monsoon.

No Mike, YOU'RE lucky. If I ever buy a car with monsoon or bose, the first thing I would do would be to rip out the shitty amp and put a decent amp and decent speakers in it.
