  • Gears/Rear End

Alright my rear sounds like there is some change or somethin in it so im guessing it's going to go
i'll be getting it checked out
If it is I might as well do a gear swap and get the rear end rebuild kit

Anyone with an M6 do a 4.10 Swap?
    Lose much top end?
Not able to get those same max speeds?
Catch whoopins on the highway now?

I'm trying to figure out if I should do the 4.10 or stick with the stock

I only guessing but with as large as sixth gear is I doubt you'll have anything to worry about unless you plan on doing 150+ MPH races all the time
The Chevy Camaro was built with a single purpose in mind which it executes flawlessly...Going very very fast in a straight line until your hair catches on fire.

You dont pull in 6th with 3.42's, i don't know if 4.10's would over come that or not

4.10 is a nice gear change that nets alot of extra umph for the money. You would have to ask Keego Rydah about his car becuase its is an M6 with a 4.10. The onyl problem is strength with the 10bolt which leaves much to be desired. A 4.10 will be worse then a 3.42 for pinion tooth strength. You should ask aroud with other people with m6 trannys to see what they prefer.

I did a 4.30 but that was in my 9" you won't be disappointed with 4.10's. IMO it should be the first mod for M6 cars.
          A bunch of bolt-ons, heads/cam, LT's 9" rear, 4.30 gear. Best on Nittos 11.90 @ 120.4 w/ 1.89 60'
          SOLD.
