Did you guys get rid of ABS when the 9" went in? If so what did you do, just not plug it back in? Thanks

i still have ABS on mine. It can be done on a 9". It was suggested to keep it when i did the rear end. Why loose it if you dont have to.

            and the answer is.....

Cory has a 4 channel car, that means it has ABS and Traction Control, my car is a 3 channel car, that means it has ABS and NO traction control. if you have a 4 channel car then you can keep the ABS and TCS without any problems. if you have a 3 channel car you will lose abs because it uses a reluctor ring on the diff. where as the 4 channel cars have the reluctor ring on the end's of the axle.....i just unplugged the harness from my chassis. however now i'm about to take the entire ABS box out to clear up my engine bay some more

            Cliff Notes

YOU WILL LOSE ABS IF YOU HAVE A 3 CHANNEL CAR

YOU WILL KEEP ABS IF YOU HAVE A 4 CHANNEL CAR

NO. a car that has the Traction control option is a 4 channel, a car that doesn't have the traction control option (ie: my car) is a 3 channel. the year has nothing to do with a car having traction control or not.

Oh, well, why didn't you say that in the first place. Those cliff notes were better.

So what year did they start doing traction control in these cars?

So is your abs light on all the time? Or what did you do to get it to go out?

Traction control like matt said, was pretty much an option. Either you optd for or you didnt. It was standard on alot of cars as the years progressed but you can still find those out there without it.

I believe the LT1 cars had it as an option, why do you ask? Its pretty easy to see if you have TCS or not if there is a switch yes, if not then no lol.
