    So I have talked it over with my parents...Im sellin my 94 3.4 for a 98-02 3.8 firebird, I was trying to talk them into lettin me get a SS or Trans am but they dont really like that idea for some reason. I guess an fbody is better then no body hehe...sorry. So basically I am going to mod the shit out of this car, thats the other thing they dont understand, ill be spending more money on mods and the car instead of goin out and buying the LS1 in the first place. Besides the usual mods, headers, exhaust, lid etc,I was thinkin of a cam, im pretty sure my dad wont want me puttin it in myself, and from what i hear it is a little tricky?...are there any shops in the detroit area that would do a good job for a reasonable price? i know that a cam install can run pretty high, up to a grand? I just really like the aggressive sound...and with a 3.8 i want all the power i can get thanks.

    Oh and they dont know yet but powerdyne supercharger here i come hehe.

    I just happen to have a supercharger kit for a 95-98 3.8l car sitting in my room right now that I am going to be selling in the next couple weeks after taking some measurements. $2200 shipped takes it. It is a polished kit

    Also abbottsracingheads.com have some great prices on cams and can custom grind one for ya, they are running a cam gp right now on another 3.8l site.

        Really...hmmm well I dont even have the car yet and it wont be for another two months...i will definitly keep in touch about that kit...is it complete?...and how much fab will i need to do to put it on a 98-02?

          it is a complete kit, has FMU, BOV, belt, and all.

          You would have to cut the discharge tube or get a different piece. People do it all the time with the 95-98 kit though. If you get a 98 then no modification would be needed as the 98 had the angled tb yet

                i want a bright red and cant seem to find one that has low miles and a price i can afford...of course ill keep looking.

                  hey sam when i come home ill take you to stenod performance unless you already know where it is, but they work on f-bodys all day and could probably be very helpful with suggesting what to do with the car, but just give me a call man and ill help you out with that

                    yea but do they work on the 3.8l fbody all day or just the lt1 and ls1 engines? There are things that most v8 shops don't know about the 3.8l engine like where to get certain parts or what parts are actually available and don't need to be custom made.

                    For installing a camshaft any shop can do that though. I am talking for later on with a bigger build up

                      well if it doesnt work out to where they dont work on 3.8s at least hey could give advice or suggestions but i was talking to them one day and the guy said b4 the got into lt1's and ls1's they all started with v6s so it would be interesgting finding out more

                        Joe at Stenod is a great guy as well, he helped me out a lot yesterday when i was up there. very knowledgable person. i'm sure if you walk in there with a chunk of $$ they will not turn you away.
