  • Wheel Opinion?

I know I have discussed this a different time, but i thought i would run it again, cause i have a little extra cash right now, and want some new wheels!!

I was wondering if anyone could just give me some opinions on what rims/tires to go with while not getting too expensive.

I was looking at the obvious C5, Z06, ZR-1, and the C6(Zo6), because those are all kinda in my price range. By looking at my car, do you think it would be a good idea to do the 17/18 setup, 18's all around, or 17's all around. I pretty set on keeping chrome, unless someone can talk me into something different.... dont forget tires too!!

after I get some ideas maybe I will make a poll or something for kicks...Here are some pics to put it in perspective, or to photoshop if someone wants to...

Ballpark us a figure on what you want to spend for wheels...and if you want to be different or be like everyone else with factory knock-offs. I would stick with 18's all around...the staggered size wheels look a bit goofy on these cars. Do you want something with a lip or more of a flush face wheel?

18's all the way around for sure, and lower it if not already done, gives it a nice clean look

I would stick with 17s, a bit lighter than 18s for racing, and still look really good. I have 17s on mine and just got some bigger tires for the rear for xmas, but otherwise I think they look good.

Unless you don't care about weight and racing, then go 18 I guess. 17s will be cheaper though for the wheel and the tire. Tires get expensive as you get bigger

I doubt he can/would lower it anymore, it already has the factory body kit which makes our camaro's really low and hit everything already.

I really dont wanna spend much more than 800-1000 dollars on wheels, cause im going to save the expensive wheels for the next camaro in a few years, and i dont have THAT kind of money to spend

So i guess im going for the knockoffs, cause they are better than the 16" stockers I have now!!

yeah the front part of the kit is already so scratched, so i think lowering is out of the question

Oh damn...I was hoping you had more to spend...I just love picking out wheels for cars. Actually the wheels Sean (Keego Ridah) has are some of the nicest looking "factory" wheels I think. Not sure how much they are though?

he has all the performance bolt ons already including nitrous. He wants to get an ls1 soon so he doesn't want to get into the engine of this one. I would suggest if not getting wheels/tires, then to get suspension goodies since those can be swapped over to the ls1. Like LCAs, Torque Arm, panhard bar, etc.

                        You got it!!!!!

Suspension comes next, only because of what you said, how it can be transfered!

hey Ty, id go with 17s, ecspecially with the body kit. like someone else mentioned, tires get real expensive, even for 17s. im looking right now for some 275-40-17s and for a good set, they are roughly $160-$200s a piece. and a decent lip on the rim would also be cool. no idea on wheels although, sorry. hopefully you get that LS1 soon!

does anyone think that the new C6 Z06 wheels would look good on my car, cause i can get some 17's on ebay for a good price, and would have to buy tires, or a guy on ls1tech has some 17x9.5 with 245 tires/18x10.5 with 285 tires staggared with new sumitomo HTRZ II tires for sale for 1000 shipped OBO-- WILL THESE EVEN FIT??

Can someone possibly photoshop these on my car in that first picture....17's or 18''s

                              thanks
