  • v6 Spark Plugs, Wires, 02 Sensors

What brands do you guys recommend that would come in a v6 application? After Sean scoped out my car, he said the 02 sensor was bad.. car was running really lean, the sensor was throwing out like 30% of the gas. Apparently the problem is a spark knock retard or something. Y'all know how I am, I don't know jack shit about mechanics so I don't remember 100% if that's what he said it was, something about knock retard. Anyway, he recommended getting new 02 sensors, new spark plugs, new wires. What do you guys recommend?

Also, would an 02 sensor for a Camaro LT1 be the same as the 02 sensor from a 3.4L v6?

Is that not what I said it was when you first said you had a problem and you thought it was the trans?!?! Anyways when I had mine I just got some Bosch O2 sensors(you need 2, one in each manifold), some Splitfire Platinum plugs(before I knew better) and some Napa premium wires. There's no real need for ultra expensive wires in a stock 3.4 motor. I'm not even sure who makes direct fit ones for a 3.4. I doubt the sensors are the same from an Lt1 to a V6. They're usually engine specific.

Alright, I found Bosch 02 sensors on ebay for $20 and it says it fits 93-95 3.4L v6 and that I need two. Not bad! Now I just need spark plugs and spark wires... RKSport's spark wires for my engine is $50, is this right or what brand should I look at?

Like I said...you don't need anything fancy. Napa premium wires will work fine.

Ordered the spark plugs and some bosch o2 sensors that said they were for 3.4L v6 for my year range. So far, grand total is $60-70, wires cost $40, so about $100 to $110 for parts, and that's rounding up.

Try having a dealer do that. They wanted to charge me like $300 for plugs and wires alone when I had my car and was trying to figure out the problem with it! My 94 was my first experience with "almost" OBDII. After that dealer tried to rip me off I said screw it and have tried to do as much as I can myself now. The plugs will be fun to change, even on a V6 they still suck! Especially the drivers side rear plug under the brake master cylinder!

I am going with copper NGK TR-55's and AC Delco wires, but i know the 3.4 has slightly different selection.

driver side on the 3.4 is extreamly easy.. there all wide open.

the passenger side on the other hand is a b***h!! but if you take the alternator out it makes it a little better

I thought it was the drivers side rear that was the pain but all I know is I cut the hell out of my hands trying to get to whatever one it was! Of course this was like 9 years ago!
