Rear hatch lock replacement

I finaly got around to ordering a new lock to replace my old 1. The problem is I don't know how to open my hatch without the key. I was able to get it open once buy shoving a screwdriver in the key hole. That only worked the 1 time. So does anyone know of any other way's to get the rear hatch open. I also do not have the switch to release it. I was thinking that I might have to destroy the peice between the taillights and drill out the old lock, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Hopefully it won't take to long for the new lock to come.
