Dammit, Dino, I didn't get to see your badass 1st gen!!!!!!!!!!!!! Post up some pics. You had the cover on her pretty much all day today, right? I missed it completely!!! It was a great time, yet another great way to put some faces with names! There were people from MIFBody, Full Throttle V6, Street Lethal Performance,
WMCC (of course. . .lol), and pretty much any other F-Body oriented group I've ever heard of.

Thanks Ang and Brian for showin us around. Some real hot cars out there. Yours is one of them B. Maybe next year those judges will give you some more credit. It was a good time for all it looks like, even through the rain! :)
Yeah, I'll admit I was pretty bummed out on the ride home. Thankfully I had Angie to cheer me up afterwards, though. Let's just say I was almost ready to do some drastic changes to the vehicle. I knew I wouldn't get first, but I was really hoping to atleast get 3rd place or something of the sort, just something tangible to show for all the hard work I've put into my car since the last Superfest. Ah well, it's a learning experience and once I get the judging papers back I'll see what I did wrong. The only thing that really is unfair is there's absolutely no mention at all on the Superfest website for judging on what the judges look for. I even scoured the site on Friday night before going to bed just to see what info it had on what the judges wanted -- I knew of course they would check everything for cleanliness, but there was no mention of needing flairs or a first aid kit. I had the extinguisher just by chance, but if I would've known about the flairs and first aid kit I would've bought them before the show. Ah well, there's always next year when the car will be more finished.

Hey Brian! Sorry to hear you did not place in the top 3 in your class, you car is sweet! The judging @ CSF is based on how well your car is detailed (cleaned) and is not based the cars attributes. Always has been this way. The judging information is provided in the CSF event program. The CSF planning committee is looking for ways to improve this event. I will suggest the judging standards be included in the 2007 CSF website. FYI- There were some question-aires at the banquet and also Event HQ during the show. Did you fill one out?

Well at least those of us who went know more about what to look for when working on our cars. The competition was pretty fierce so I would not fret too much. Its hard to compete with a professionally designed SS. Your car looked great to me and everybody else. But you have to assume that if someone is judging a car at an event like this they will judge professionally. I went to the nesting of the birds and there were cars there that were trailor queens with like 20 miles on them and they did not go home with an award. Just use this expirience to prepare for next year. Gotta remember, some of you competitors have been coming to events like this for years with there cars and probably have their stories about not taking home a trophy. But hey at least the scenery is better this year eh B? And I'm not talking about the park! :) You took home a real prize not some crummy plaque.

Thanks, Al. Was a little vent in the previous post, but I do understand. I agree that the judging standards should be included in the newsletter and/or website (I see there's a thread for feedback that I haven't gotten to yet, I'll post it there) because at the very least I think it's only fair to let people know that they look for flairs, first aid kit, and extinguisher.

:thumbsup: You guys know when I go to an event I make sure you guys get the pics to make you feel like you're there. I was really lucky to get parked where I was, there wasn't really enough room, but Dino was nice enough to let me squeeze in next to him and then proceeded to help direct me in and such. So far I've met more of the WMCC guys than I can remember names; it's mostly the wives that I'm having a bad time remembering names, the husbands I can relate to cars I've seen on here, some of the wive's like Ronnie I recognized her having the 3rd gen and Dennis having the 1 Hot 98? lol. All in all though, yesterday evening was a blast! Now I'm just killing time before I leave for Angie's to pick her up and then head there, hopefully should be there at 9am.Hey Brian, sorry I didnt get much time to talk to ya at superfest. Since I dont have a picture of my car on here, I should have taken you over to where I was parked and properly introduced you to her. She was the red Hotrod Magazine edition with the white hockey stick stripe. She is one of only thirty-six made. Anyway, just wanted to apologize for being so thoughtless. Oh by the way, your car is sweeeet!!!!

Brian, we were standing together as a group talking but I never actually introduced myself, sorry. Figured I would have plenty of chances over the weekend. LOL, that wasn't the case as I was pretty busy at my little booth.
Having done "points competitions" for years I can tell you this. Rarely does anyone tell you all the details. But, it is almost 100% how clean every detail of your car is, not the fact that your car has something cooler than the other guy. In a points show you should always have, extingisher, first aid, flares and a tool kit. Each is worth about a point and in a close race those 4 points will make a big differance. I have all that mounted in the trunk of the '73 and loan them out to a couple of people every year. By the way, your car looked great!

Hey Ray, thanks for the tips. I definitely learned that after this Superfest and will be keeping them for next year! I checked out your booth and prices for pictures, also checked out your great looking car too. I saw the painted chin lip and was like "Wow, that looks like Ray's... wait a minute, it's next to a photography booth... DUH!" haha.
