  • Need Opinions - Blackouts?

I need some opinions on this...I've gone back and forth and just can't decide what looks better. I have blackouts for the taillights and I've had them on for a while. Everything on the car is black, white, or chrome. I liked the all black look, but I sort of like how it looks without the blackouts. In a car wash one came off and got scratched up a bit. No one else really notices it, but of course I do.

I'm debating on whether or not to keep the covers, go back to normal taillights, or nite-shade them just like I did to the 3rd brake light.
Here are some pictures with and without the blackouts.

    Thanks!!

I like it without the blackouts, I like the tri-color tail lights myself, but that's just me

yeah the tri color lights are the best looking camaro lights in my opinion as weelllll. Too much black can be a bad thing.

It's funny, this site is the total opposite of camarov6.com. I posted the same thread and everyone there so far has said keep the blackouts.

I'm thinking of maybe blacking out everything except for the reverse lights on the taillights. Would add to the black and white thing I have going. Do you guys think that would look good? And is there anyone that's good at photoshopping that could maybe give me an idea of what that would look like?

          Thanks for the opinions.

i would take the "stick on" blackouts off and then night shades them not as dark. i had mine blacked out with the night shades once, and got a ticket. ( i loved the way it looked though!) anyways. i think the idea of leaving the reverse light open and blacking out everything else would look cool. a guy that used to work with me did that to his GrandPrix and it looked cool leaving the reverse light untinted.

I always thought the 97+ Camaro tails would look best with tinted turn signals. I did a quick photoshop of it:

edit: nevermind I just tried Matt's idea and that looks better, DOOOO IT!

I agree with Matt nightshade the entire tailight minus the reverse lights that would be sweet.

What are you trying to say? I resent that j/k bro

I say tint the lights except the reverse light, looks goddamn sexy imo.

Also 97blackbird just get some VHT NiteShades and save yourself the trouble of the covers cracking, and when in doubt ebay is your friend.

Summit Racing--AVS blackouts are $48 + shipping. Actually, you want mine? I'm switching over to 98+ style lights soon and don't want them blacked out...or if I do I'll use VHT. I have AVS blackouts but I stripped off the "AVS" lettering which comes on them. Mine are in perfect condition. And you're in Kalamazoo! I'm heading home this weekend from Ann Arbor so we could probably meet up somewhere if you wanted. I'd take $35 for the pair.
