I see them quite a bit actually and it really pisses me off I think they ruined a perfectly good C5. If you want a 53 then go buy one, that looks like shit imo.Doing less with more

I actually think its pretty cool too, get the retro look with the benefit of the new technology. Why not. Actually there was one at the 28th street metro cruise last year as well.

I've grown up around old cars so I really love the 20's to early 60's styling way more than anything produced today. I've heard "kids" say at car shows I don't like that it looks too old when pointing to a car that isn't slab sided like anything made since the 60's. It seems their dream car is a Mustang or something similar. They're OK but as far as looks I TOTALLY prefer a 30's or 40's street rod to anything new. I've noticed most of the F body owners here and LS1 tech are kids 16-25 and they hate anything that's not boxy or slab sided. My comment was more of a joke than anything cuz I'm not that old at 31, although sometimes I feel it!

I love the older cars, and I would def. love to have a 20's, 30's, 40's street rod. I really like the newer F-Bodies and Vettes, but my heart is still all for the older American Muscle Machines. . .Nick H.

First of all I think that retro C5 is done pretty good.
Secondly, my dad just bought a '30 Model A and i've been just drooling over it. Id sell my GTA for it if he'd let me.
Model A, model B and 46-48 Fords are the most badass rides out there. And of course your '57 shoeboxes. Or a '50 merc... I like '67 Chevy IIs as well... gah so many nice cars out there.
Unfortunately my peers are all into either Muscle cars, or Import cars. Which is sad because streetrodding is slowly dwindling. Dont see too many 18-25 year olds riding around in a deuce or a model A. That's mainly because all the old guys who grew up with them have driven the prices right through the roof so nobody in the younger generation can even afford one.

I have to agree with you Matt...the prices are through the roof, and most kids are not into them nowadays. A good example of some older rods is the movie American Graffitti. I have always like a T-Bucket or a ride like the Munsters...You are right...most people forget about the beginning of streetrodding...Originally posted by MattODoomUnfortunately my peers are all into either Muscle cars, or Import cars. ya id love to get my hands on one but even a build your own frame/fiber glass body and all will cost you a fortune... im sure in a few more years the over stock of the prefab parts to make a nice ratrod or something will drop as well as demand for them, but then it will be pretty much gone forever once that stock is out... id like to find one now before its too late.Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. But it's not exactly street legal, so keep it on the down low.

We have a fiberglass 1936 ford roadster bodyOriginally posted by wezelesya id love to get my hands on one but even a build your own frame/fiber glass body and all will cost you a fortune... im sure in a few more years the over stock of the prefab parts to make a nice ratrod or something will drop as well as demand for them, but then it will be pretty much gone forever once that stock is out... id like to find one now before its too late.
also got a ton of other shit:
1930 model A
1919 model T center door
1946 Coupe
1947 Convert
1948 Convert
1968 Chevelle
1987 GTA
1988 GTA
1998 SS
But the '32 ford prices are INSANE. My dad used to go out to North Dakota all the time and buy cars from farmers. He'd haul them back 4-5 bodies at a time. Well anyways he once bought a '32 3 window for $10. yes, $10. Payed the farmer $50 to haul it out of the field. The picture and story was in last months Street Rodder. Anyways, that same car today could be sold for a ton. Shit the damn dashboards in the cars go for $1500.

thats the thing though thouse cars in fields, old barns, and forgotten about are hard to come by anymore... i found a nice nice... i wanna say 46 caddy interior all there engine original and ran paint gone but didnt matter the body so thick barley had surface rust let alone rusted through... but the windshield and back glass busted out... that alone for this model being a special edition or something was over 5 grand just for the glass... i could have had the car for 500 bucks but back out cause of the resto cost... i shoudl have bought it and sold it even as parts and made a killing but some guy did pick it up after i found it and tossed i think he said 18,000 into it for a pretty nice resto job and it looks really nice now big chrome angle ont he front... if only i had the money back then to do it...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice.
