Once in a while you see a LS1 car for 6-7k, usually high(er) mileage or needing some work.

You might want to look into one with a salvage title if $7,000 is your budget (for an LS1 car).

I dont know what LT1 cars go for.

I've got a 94 Red Camaro T-top M6 that I might be willing to part with. Tons of new stuff, only ever seen a week of winter. Any interest?

LT1s can go for anywhere from 2500 to like 10000 depending on condition. The ones that have the mileage and wear and tear of daily use generally go pretty cheap. The *mint* condition cars that have been stored winters and dont have many miles have been starting to pull more money lately. I paid 9k for mine back in '03 and everyone thought i was crazy.... it was worth every extra penny IMO and dont think id have a problem getting that out of it again if i tried to sell. To this day I have not seen a cleaner Z with equal or more miles. (83k). a good LT1 is hard to find, it took me a year before one even caught my attention, and i ended up buying it 6 speeds are even harder to find because theyre only 13% production and most of them are beat to hell.

alright well it looks like im not going to be getting one anytime soon.
Today while i was running late to school I got a ticket for 10 over and i didt have my linense on me uggg forgot my walet at home. but i got the linense part taken off and now theres just the 2pts i could get on my record. Im just going try to get what ever i get as long as theres no pts.

but 2 tickets in a v6 i dont think i need a v8 quite yet, but i will still search the ads
