Eh its nice, not a 3rd gen fan though. Plus its only 270 hp, that's nothing special. I know, its a turbo. I'd have to yank that motor and tweak it, drop it back in, and crank up the boost and then drive the wheels off it!!!!!!

its a turbo 3.8 though 270 is a stock number little more boost and it shoots up... i wouldnt care if i could find one for a deal its still worth it... no v-8 besides a yenkel or some special edition will come close to the price one of those will grab... 20 years from now what do you think will be worth more money that little v-6 turbo or your hugger orange camaro? hell today even...lol not something you would take out and drive all the time though... thats a retirement fund right there at barret jackson in 20 30 years...Last edited by wezeles; May 1st, 2006, 02:20 AM.Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. Those motors were horribly underrated as well. That car in street tires will run 12s in the 1/4 bone stock.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! and the aftermarket is crazy same thing as a grand nash... you can add a really nice larger turbo/intercooler kit for that dirt cheep... and a v8 would take alot more mod money to keep up with it... dont forget the grand nash in its time held the best performace name for a long time... they may not look like much but the 3.8 turbo motors were crazy for there time and still hold up today just fineOriginally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. I'd have a hard time modding one of those. They only made 1500 of them, and they're already arguably the fastest Trans Am ever released from the factory.
I wouldn't want to mess with that retirement account...Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! I'll still take my car. That really does nothing for me, not a 3rd fan. I'm not going to spend that kind of money on a car and not drive it. Don't get me wrong its a rare and nice car and would be cool to have. But I'd have to have like 10 other cars to not drive it and even then I'd get it out occasionally. There wasn't much else for 3rd gen's that's worth collecting, that's for sure.Originally posted by wezelesits a turbo 3.8 though 270 is a stock number little more boost and it shoots up... i wouldnt care if i could find one for a deal its still worth it... no v-8 besides a yenkel or some special edition will come close to the price one of those will grab... 20 years from now what do you think will be worth more money that little v-6 turbo or your hugger orange camaro? hell today even...lol not something you would take out and drive all the time though... thats a retirement fund right there at barret jackson in 20 30 years...

Oh, I dunno, I think there are several 3rd gens that will be worth hanging on to:
- '89 Indy TTA
- '91-92 TA convertibles
- Any 1LE cars (SCCA road race option)
- Any B4U cars (police issue option...could you get a 1LE on a B4U car? That would be ultra rare.)
- IROC convertibles
- 5.7 IROCs or GTAs
- Any year Firehawk
Once upon a time, somebody said that a 440-6 pack 'Cuda wasn't worth collecting because it wasn't a Hemi.
