Im not a huge ford fan but they are doin somehting sweet. the new cobra 475hp and torque. Supposed to be like 45k that is awesome if anyone dissagrees they are gay. Well that leaves chevy with a problem. The new maro 400hp you know they dont like losing to ford. so what do u think the ss will be? supercharged ls2, ls7(doubt it do to price), or just a more tuned ls2, or anything else you may think.

Yeah that cobra is definatly bad ass but for the price you could by a C6. I just dunno which would be quicker.

lol I think its an alright car but you really can't compare it to the vette. Now back when Shelby just started making the cobra for FORD it was bad ass and the vette was just too heavy.

yea the zo6 will take care of it but it is 70k. the c6 is only 400hp and about the same price. I wonder how much less it weighs. Still the camaro needs to be able to out muscle the stang.

Bob Lutz himself said that they have the z06 engine on tap for the Camaro if they need it in response to the Challenger. Then there's also the LS3, and they ARE in fact talking about other versions of the camaro, such as the Baldwin Motorsports Camaro.

yeah i think they will come to bat at every hit and be the same if not lower price... it will turn into an all out power war which will be great untill people start dieing..lol and then they put restrictions on how much power a car can have....

vette is 2 seater, needs to find a market against Viper and whatever Ford has then, not against 4 seaters.

Ford can claim 6,000hp, but they always overrate thier hp and GM underrates the 4 seater hp. Fords aren't getting their torque until 2/3 through the rpms, GM cranks tq from idle. hp sells, tq gets you down the track, or away from that stang.
The cobras from like 00 or 01 (forget exactly) had ridiculous hp figures, they were forced to buy back all those clunkers because even the die-hard ford fans were outraged at how pathetic they ran.
Curently Ford can claim whatever dream hp they want, because they have no challenger to put on the streets and prove how unrealistic those figures are -they know that as soon as GM announced the death of the f-bod.
Ford will have to adjust thier claims once competition gets on the road.Ford engines also don't get an hp band until high in the rpms, anyhow. By then, the GM torque and higher low-end hp will have dusted them.
