  • [Project] Project 10Sec or bust!!!

    Well it has oficialy started
I went and picked up my project car to be turned into my drag car.

    The goal:
Hit the 10sec 1/4 then go faster

    Curent position:
    Needs lots of clean up

    Parts that I have now:
    LS6 motor
    TH400 Trany
    LS K-Memeber
    Rear LCA's

    Parts I need: LOTS

Over the next year I hope to have the following done:
Hvae the burnt 3.4 V-6 out (might be good yet???)
Have the trany out (still works good)
    Clean the engine bay
    Get a stroker kit
    Engine work
Gut what I don't need of the interior (tan)
    Remove the Heating/AC system

Here are the pics I took when I picked the car up:

More pics to come as I make progress on this

I wouldn't stroke an ls1/6. its not worth it IMO<I have one.
ls6 h/c cam will go 10's all day. depending on the weight it will do it with stock heads.

I agree with Larry, use stock cubes and a nice ass H/C package with some steep gearing, big stall and 3200lbs or so and it'll go 10s all motor then hit it with a 150 shot for 9s.
                Doing less with more

Because they are from Cardomain and you have seen them before about a year ago.

                  1BADAIR, thanks for the info
                  I'll keep that in mind.

Oh BTW this car will not have Nitrous on it
                  Big plans there too

Looks like a fun project. Very similar to the one I'll be starting next year with the 94 'maro.

                      A 383 all bore(sleave) runs better than a stroked 383.
the problem with a 383 is it needs better heads than a 346. the issue becomes that the small bore of the 383 shrouds the valves.
most 383's only make about 460-470 . The make marginally better torque.
Tony Mamo(Afr) build one that he got to run great after many head/came changes. I think he finally got one to make 540 or so with a solid roller. That was with some 205's with 225 ports and small valves I beleive

Well as of right now I don't have plans to run the stock heads but that could all change.
I'm keeping my eyes open for deals

great starter! but to throw into the stroked LS1 debate my dads car when it has the LS1 still in it had it stroked to a 381 and he put out 830 something whp. several people here have seenand heard the car, along with seeing the dyno sheet from EPP. now he has a LS2 that is stroked and it makes alot more (he wont tell me the numbers, but stated its a significantly much more whp)
