Eastside Cruise to Summer Meet and Greet

So, who all from the east side is going?

I say we replicate what the West Siders do to get to the Meet and Greet, and have a nice big line of cars and have fun!

Some more info, for those who need it.

The Summer Meet and Greet is taking place on Saturday, July 26th.


Meet up at the Muskegon/ Spring Lake Craig's Cruisers on 1551 Pontaluna and US 31, meet @ 2pm till 5 pm.

Leave for cruise thru Grand Haven and Lake Shore Dr. @ 5pm. :lol::lol::lol:

Three options for the end.
1. Hang out at Tony's (Pizza Man's)
2. Continue to cruise to Gemmens in Hudsonville, 6 to 8 pm.
3. Then continue on to Dawgs Dogs, 8 to ??? :razz:

Those East Siders heading back Saturday night, can jump on I-696 to I-96 and head home, very easily from any one location. :lol:

1. Friday afternoon/evening ( July 25) one of the BEST "CRUIZE-In / PARADE", takes place 20 mile north in Whitehall, Mi. 400 cars cruize from Whitehall to Montaque, then a big car show afterwards.

2. THEN: On Sunday ( July 27) is the Annual Grand Haven Coast Guard CAR SHOW will be held, 8am till 2pm. :p

SOOOO, if you love cars and want to see alot of different rides, instead of the sameold/sameold, then, this is the weekend to plan for. :lol::lol::lol:

agreed thats a terrible excuse. I guess it is sort of where each persons priorities are. Im sick of the gas excuse, it doesnt cost that much to drive over even for us way out here on the westside as we did for the spring meet.

Its not like everyone has to wait in traffic...its almost all hwy cruising. Most non cam'd cars should get close to 28 mpg at 70mph, and all the West Side people did it once. Ill be apart of the cruise...for like 25 min.

We could meet up where Wal-Mart used to be at 12 Mile Rd and Van Dyke Ave, then it'd just be a quick hop onto I-696 and take that across to I-96, etc.

Whoever threw the poll up onto the site didn't make the voting public so I don't know who the 10 people were that voted yes...

THe cruise to Holland & beach shouln 't be deleted ,its an awesom drive

DAWGS at 9:00 p.m. is going to be so crowded ,no parking together,
NO rice field for me ....

Time wise DAWGS & after..... I got ALL the time in the World..

Tony, you need to figure out what options there will be for people who are coming in from the East side, and/or those of us that DO NOT what to go to the reception.

You will loose some people, with a 2 to 3 hour lag. I know what you will say, but think about it. We got 20 some cars signed up. Just my input, do what you want, but you are making it harder and harder for us to organize events in the future, with all these last minute changes.

The cruise route is set to work the best with a large number of cars, and the least amount of light, turns, and confusion, and we will leave as scheduled.

Hey guys, just a reminder...

This is the EASTSIDE CRUISE thread... not the information thread on the M&G. Just want to make sure everyone realizes that. ;)

That said, thanks for stepping up, Dennis! I was getting really confused and was almost ready to just say "screw it" and not go because of all these last minute changes and everything not being planned out. That's what ruined the last West Side meet & greet -- a park was picked but there wasn't a guarantee that there would be parking available at the park. Not gonna drive 3 hours across the state to get to a park to meet up with everyone only to find out all the parking spots are taken and I have no where to park. ;) Likewise, I don't want to drive 3 hours across the state only to find out over half of the people at the car show are leaving because they made other plans and now it's only east siders at the show trying to find their way to the next "leg" of the M&G. Honestly, I think this whole thing got way too complicated and it should have just been left that we'd find some car show to go to for the day, not all these different places and such. Now I have to take Red Alert just to guarantee I'll have GPS for when I get lost.

My exact thought and concerns. I knew you and many others were thinking, WTF???
As you know, I have planned many events over the years, and learned alot from the WMCC members on how to plan out routes for a large number of cars. There has to be alot of thought put into each turn, light, intersection, etc. If not, you lose people, or people start doing dumb things trying to keep up, like running lights, etc.
The goal is to enjoy the cruise, relax if you miss a light, and know we will be there up ahead.
Anyway, please come on over, to the Sunny side of the State...:p
