lsx?

what would be invloved in swaping a lsx in a 2nd gen? is there a kit or do i just need mounts? what about headers? what trans would i have to use? could i use a 700-r4 and can i get mounts for it? or do i have to use a 4l60e?
I love the ls1 but i like older cars and ls1 3rd gens are starting to show up alot so i would like to be diffent. im not shure weather i would go fuel injected or carburated yet but i need to over come the other problems first.

ahh well it wouldent happen till i get out of school and get a good job in august but i found mounts too there about $550. well this project sounds like it could get expensive. but i still think its cheaper than a 3rd gen swap.

well thats cool. that another problem down. i would assume i would need a custom drive shaft too but i can talk to a driveshaft shop for that.

those are for a 4th gen i doubt they will fit a 2nd gen

This is an interesting question that I've been pondering myself.

I would think this would be a relatively easy swap as you generally have more room in a 2nd gen than a 4th gen.

But I haven't researched it too far at this time.

I'm sure Year One has or will have all the conversion parts necessary since they're putting LS motors in the Bandit III cars.

yea they have the parts ive found now but its just expensive. but not as much as 3rd gen swap. does the 4l60-e have a seperate computer (tcu) or is it incorperated into the pcm?

trans is controlled by the pcm

you could run a th400, i think most 2nd gens were 3 speeds so it MIGHT work out w/o making a kmember.

ls1s pretty much have shorty headers stock, or get a cheap set of lt's to see if they work
